I have a hard time seeing a team retain 23 million dollars over the next 4 years.

I don't understand the hard-on for Karlsson. Yeah, he had a great offensive season, but he had about 64% 5v5 o-zone starts this season which was highest amongst Sharks d-men and fourth highest amongst all NHL d-men that played 1050 minutes or more.

Oh I agree. We have d that can handle the offensive stuff, they were first overall picks. What's sinking us now is the play in our own zone, which Karlsson doesn't do a thing to help us with. If we didn't have dahlin on our roster, this might be something to look at, but we do. Plus, again, the Sharks aren't going to retain half for 4 years. It's a strange spot for them- he's not a cap dump, but at the same time, very few teams can take him at his salary or close to it.
