Flyers would decline imo.

According to Friedman there was a team ready to make a "large" offer for Konecny.

And the Flyers have said the offer would have blow their socks off.

And to me the value of this trade equates to a 2 2nds, + 3rd, + a late pick. And I'm not very high on Helleson but his perceived value might be around a 2nd imo.

Miller could be OS for a 2nd and screw up NYR entire cap. You get two 2nds and cheap depth.

Nah, Miller is available this offer will be not even locked at. Besides they buyout Goodrow and that dead cap won't hurt the team until Panarin is off the books. So there goes your little theory.

That’s fair. Ducks don’t have a 1st to sell so went with pick 33oa. Since 33oa, should probably be Grans instead of Helleson. If they turned 33oa into a 1st around 20oa then maybe Helleson woukd work.

I live in reality where buying someone out is a last resort because of the lingering affects. It’s also not the brightest idea to buy out somewhere wearing a letter after only 2 seasons.

You obviously have a psychological need to believe that this will happen and is good/fair so why argue? I'm not worried

Gibson won’t waive for Toronto.

Ducks and Kings will never be trade partners and our organization would look terrible to trade one of our longest tenured players who’s a fan favorite to our biggest rival.

Philly probably wants a first for TK, plus not really interested in him.

Outside the seconds, the Miller trade is not appealing to New York at all, and they’re gonna want a lot for Miller. Also we don’t need more LHD.

Kings don’t want an aging defenseman. They need someone who can help long term.

And kaliyev would not be in the deal.

Why? Miller is worth a 1st but they have some cap issues. Whos their cap casualty?

Miller is worth way more than a 1st. If there is a cap casualty this off season it will be Goodrow, but next years cap hasn't even been announced yet and it may be more than anticipated so too early to even think about. Bottom line is Miller is not available period.

If he wants out he’ll waive.

Poor logic. Fowler can only be moved to 4 teams and I bet LAK is one of them for reasons mentioned, he won’t have to move.

Idc if you’re interested in TK. He’s good and makes the team better.

If NYR declines that’s fine but stating ANA doesn’t need anymore LHD after trading Fowler and Benoit then they must not need anything.

Bettman said it’ll only be a 1M increase and next summer it’ll go up more significantly yesterday at his press conference.

Yes fans would like to move Goodrow but he wears a letter (according to cap friendly) and he’s only played 2 season of his contract. I’m not sure that’s the thought of their front office.

What does a letter on his jersey have to do with anything? They get traded all the time. I'm sure Drury wants to keep Goody but if it becomes a choice between signing Laffy and Miller or moving Goodrow, Goody is gone. And they could easily buy out his contract and actually get more than his full cap hit in years 1 and 2.

They’re gonna sign Gavrikov for 5+ years so age isn’t really the reason for a no but I know that trade isn’t set in reality. Gibson is more likely. ANA will want a RHD and a scoring winger if they can get it.

Why would you trade Fowler then? He’s been consistent lately and is a good veteran presence for the team. There’s no reason to trade him if he’s doing his job. There’s no reason to sell your only LHD on the roster then buy more when we have Zellweger and Mintyukov a few years out. Regardless if you think TK will help the team (frankly anything would help this team) Philly isn’t accepting that package and we shouldn’t be trading away picks that early in the draft unless it’s for an elite player.

Letters mean the organization trust that player. It’s not an end all be all but it does add another layer to it. I know Goodrow’s buyout is team friendly but buyouts aren’t just thrown around in reality like they are on here.

I just think Miller could be a surprise move from NYR.

There is zero percent chance Miller is traded. ZERO. The only question is does Drury sign him to a 2-year bridge deal or commit long term. Given the cap restraints this year, a 2-year bridge deal seems likely. And as I said, I'm sure Drury prefers to keep Goodrow, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

Age. Miller is younger fits the timeline better and has zero affect on Minty or Zellweger’s spot.

33oa isn’t getting an elite player.

Then who gets moved? NYR isn’t gonna sit pat and just bring back the same roster.

I agree this trade isn’t perfect. I was just looking at it as being more than a possible OS.

It would be in a package obviously. But in terms of the value of the pick:

Ollen Zellweger was drafted at 34 OA and Tristan Luneau was drafted at 53rd OA. Both won defenseman of the year in their respective leagues. You can find elite players in the 2nd round or anywhere in the draft at that.

We will see who gets moved but it isn't going to be any of the young players who are the future. Despite losing in 7 games to a very good NJ Devil team, the Rangers are a good team with a solid core of vets plus a solid group of good young players and prospects. I doubt there will be major changes. I new coach that doesn't misuse their young players will help plus a few tweaks like help at RW.
