This is just a mock contract because I don't think there's away to trade UFAs on here. I pretty much see this as a Mayfield replacement. These two GMs made a pretty big deal at the 2021 trade deadline, so that's why I'm not worried about making the trade with someone in the division. Again, ignore the contract, I just did it so I could trade him.

Make Blackwood Bahl any Colton to Jersey trade starts with Bahl. TB really doesn't give a 💩 about a pick.

I feel like NJ views Bahl as a regular next season but if it's a must, I'd do it for Colton.

It would be because Colton is most likely in the top 6 in TB next season so, this will be a you're going to pay for it deal.

Yea that makes sense, they need it because Cole is leaving. Also doesn't hurt to get younger.

The Devils can certainly trade Severson rights but the Isles are not the right team. They already have Pulock and Dobson and cannot pay Severson what he is worth.

Agree on the cap space part, I just liked the fit because they're losing Mayfield. Pulock and Dobson would have much bigger roles than Severson.

The Isles can only afford to pay Mayfield about $3.5, and he will probably get $4 on the open . Severson I would guess is closer to $5.5-$6.5, the Isles would love to have him at $3.5 but there is a team that will be able to offer more than the Isles.

Severson just isn't worth that much. I'm not saying he won't get that in the offseason but my idea was have him on the third pair as an offensive option. Regardless, I can't wait to see a GM overpay for him. This year's Gudbranson.

Severson is a nice player. But he's going to get paid this off season as a FA. He is not a fit for the isles. We have cap problems, plus we have to paid Sorokin and Dobson to big contracts

Definitely understand from the cap space perspective but I really don't think he's worth anything more than $4M AAV. It's unrealistic because GMs value him higher but my ideal role for him in New York would be a third pairing offensive guy. But you're 100% right, Dobson and Sorokin are way bigger priorities than Severson.

It's been here said but yeah Bahl > Blackwood, TB's probably going to go diving in the bargain bin for backups next season and end up with a medium to well-worn David Rittich

Otherwise yeah would take Yegor and Bahl fs

I see Bahl as an NHL regular for NJ next year but if it means getting Colton, I would part ways with him. And like you said, Colton doesn't need to fetch a backup goalie in a trade, there are plenty in unrestricted free agency.
