Probably one of the better Marner to WPG trades i've seen on here. Still not a fan of the idea, but I've seen worse and there's a scenario where i'd do this.

Not a chance the Jets send a 1st back for 2 years of Marner. He just doesn't give Winnipeg anything they need over the next 2 seasons

Even if the Jets did that trade.....you've waste some good draft picks on Konecky. Now way Arizona does that trade .

So the leafs get 1yr of Hellabuyck and 2yr or Konecny not knowing if they will be able to resign either. In return they lose Marner, Samsonov, Minten, Robertson and a 1st round draft pick. Not a chance they make these trades besides losing the best player and 3 RFA's, plus a first rounder.

Why, it looks pretty meh to me, the Jets trade back in the 1st round of this upcoming draft and trade their 2024 1st, looks bad for the Jets to me, yes they'd get a 1st+ for Marner when they trade him in a year but whats the point, all that for whatever the + is and Samsonov's RFA rights?

Not worth the risk or trade gymnastics to hope to come out ahead, better off to trade Helle for a 1st+ and be done with it, if they're smart they'll retain 50% to maximize their return.

Look closer, they get the Jets 2023 1st and the Jets 2024 1st and the Jets 2023 3rd, this isn't good for Winnipeg either.

It's too much for Konecny though, Philly is the big winner here.
