Not for Tampa, they decline pretty quickly.Colton, if he is traded, will return far better than this. Tampa won't be looking for picks for him either.

No they aren't. You reading too much garbage. They buyout Goodrow and they can keep the young players.

No one is going to pay a top 15 pick to dump a one year contract, Canucks will have no issue singing there rfa's with Pearson and Poolman on ltir.

Regardless, Tampa declines, as they would get a better offer from 30 teams. Colton is younger, cheaper, and has a top 6 role ready for him moving ahead. Even if Killorn took some lowball offer to stay, and Tampa looked to move Colton, they would very easily turn this offer down. Chicago doesn't really have the pieces Tampa is probabaly looking for in a Colton trade anyway, as they don't ha e a young, cost controlled 3LD that's ready to step in and be a regular next year(likely the main piece Tampa would be looking for, in addition to another solid F prospect).

well you were right about the "unrealistic" part of your description

if all it took to keep Colton was a 1.1M AAV for 2 years TB would have had that done months ago
TB isn't even answering the phone for that trade, and probably calls the chicago police to report a failed attempt at a robbery

You're higher than Snoop Dogg if you think this is close for Colton. That conversation goes something like this.
KD: Julien got a trade for you says above .
JBB: (laughing hysterically) as he hangs up.

Yea, the Rangers situation is overstated they need to dump anyone. The only thing with them being that they are really just frozen as a roster and can't make much of an improvement, but it won't be at the cost of anyone young.

The thing with the Rangers is they will probably be ducking the cap year after year. Next year they have to Kakko again who may not be much of a big raise, and Ryan Lindgren whom I can't get a read on how the majority of Ranger fans feel about. The big hurt would be after the following year when they have to re-up Shesty who has absolutely carried them and his agent has to know it.

Well, they said they wouldn't be offering Toews another contract. They never actually said anything about Kane, to my knowledge. But, yeah, I think it is pretty clear that they aren't going to bring him back.

I think more was said about Toews as he wasn't traded. But like you said it's pretty clear he's done there.

If anything, if someone were to give him crazy money and could afford it, I could see home town Buffalo if they had money to burn.

Yeah. Which BUF does have money to burn if it is short term. It might be kind of sketchy, but it could be a lucrative move for CHI to resign Kaner. See how he heals up and try to get some more for him at next years deadline. The NYR deal was underwhelming enough to maybe give it another go. But, I doubt CHI does this. They already ripped the bandaid off. They aren't gonna want to do it again.

Yeah you pretty much nailed. And with each year the window closes again. Can't sign players long-term in their 28's and expect it will work awesome face
