Not sure Liljegren is a good bet for 2RD, he was a healthy scratch for more than half the playoffs.

And while its a good offer for Koneckny, if hes available, they'll get better offers (which is more to do with the late in the round CAR picks)

If the leafs trade Marner for Necas and Pesce, you are adding on the wrong side my friend. Both Pesce and Necas need new deals after this season, Marner has 2 years left and is a legitimate star offensive player and a selke-level defensive player.

Canes are adding their 2023 1st to even get the leafs attention.

Canes are likely going to be able to get more out of him than the Leafs. Not sure how Liljegren did in the playoffs but considering what was on the line and all the vets they added, him being a healthy scratch might have nothing to do with his ability more so with experience and what was on the line for Leafs management.

Edit: Checked his game log and it seems they decided to go with him in the series clincher of the TB series, and all of the FLR series except a game (I think game 3).

Probably true, but just not sure what his value is. He hasn;t been able to succeed or become a top 4 dman YET. Hes entering his last season (his 5th pro season) expiring on a cheap RFA contract and Leafs decided that even with just Reilly rushing the puck they'd sit him and play similar skilled RD like Holl or Schenn or McCabe on 2nd/3rd pairing. Just not sure I'd pencil him in for a 2RD, unless the rest of your defense is all solid. (not to mention most Leaf fans are already counting on resigning Schenn, and they need a puck rusher/pt producer like Timmins, behind Brodie, which further erodes Liljegren's standing).

A new start might help, but Im not sure hes a good 2nd pairing guy.

If I’m making a deal with Canes for TK I want it to start with a 1st and then one of Morrow/Drury/Suzuki

I can not imagine the Leafs have any appetite for trading Liljegren based on his cap hit and production. There's been lots of positive growth in his game, and his playoff scratches were clearly a mistake based on how other defenders played and how poorly disjointed the Leafs D pairs looked that entire Florida series. Part of it is Keefe's system encourages the D to make lots of horizontal passes and slow breakouts, where Liljegren is much better moving the puck up ice (he was excellent at that in the AHL). Liljegren has lots of opportunity for growth.

Marner for Pesce/Necas is...fine as a framework. I think the Leafs would want an extension on Pesce before hand (or they'd at least have one with Matthews) they don't need another major UFA negotiation happening. I'm honestly not sure this trade makes the Leafs better.

I think Liljegren still has some decent value but I could be wrong. Acquiring him for CAR even with losing Pesce in this type of trade would be a safe bet imo since he's not a total project, they might want to gwt a Skjei replacement before Pesce though but maybe that can be done through FA.

From the Leafs perspective, I think they would regret moving Liljegren unless they are getting a proven top 4D+ out of him that is a few years older (like here) especially since Timmins is a project himself although his offensive numbers in the small sample that he had looked good. I think the Leafs move off Brodie this year or next, and Schenn is probably just going to be glued to Rielly but can't rely on him to play top 4 minutes indefinitely. They could just keep Liljegren as well and have Schenn-Liljegren-Timmins on the right side, and add someone to the left.

The fact you had the leafs adding pick in this truly preposterous trade confirms it - seek medical advice. Outrageously bad for the leafs 😂

Need more quality for TK. A trade for TK should include at min a 1st in the teens or equivalent prospect + a pick
