The Capitals don’t do that. A Matt Murray Buy-Out costs $2.6M this season and next which is basically Mantha’s remaining $$. Brodie isn’t enough of a sweetner to make this appealing at all for the Caps. Hard, hard pass.

The Caps are actually taking on salary because Murray Buy-Out + Brodie is more than Mantha’s current Cap Hit.
