Canes are not going to move morrow or nikishin. I would like Connor but isn’t the best defensively, but the canes may need to do that for someone to score some goals. Not fully convinced on Helly. Canes also won’t move all those picks, they want to be a good team for a long time not bet all futures for one cup

Seems ironic for someone with the “realistic” in their user name to come up with a completely unrealistic trade proposal

Might want to better understand the Hurricanes asset management history to understand just how unrealistic this is. If this is what you are looking for - you are going to need to find another partner.

You’re asking for the Canes two best prospect (possible 3rd as well with Gleb) + 2 firsts and a projected high second.

I know the Canes would be receiving two impact players, but this just isn’t the way they do business…

Pass. Connor doesn’t care for defense and our system will fall apart if one guy is just skating around aimlessly in the defensive zone. We wouldn’t extend Helley so this would be poor for Carolina all around

Seeing most Canes fans passing on this.

This is a serious Mortgage your future for right now kinda thing.

This is a win win and here's why.

Helly singlehandedly wins most of the games for the Jets. The Jets suck. Flat out. Imagine a 3 time nominated Vezina goalie who has won it once already, just turned 30 and having another amazing year. Not saying he guarantees the Canes a Stanley Cup, but if you play your backup 1/3 of the time to give Helly some rest, so he's not completely burnt out by the playoffs, and you had a natural scoring threat like Kyle Connor, the chances of winning it all just went up.

WPG "should" be rebuilding now and this definitely helps them to expedite the build.

CAR would have to win in the next year or 2 to offset giving up so many assets, but it's winning the Stanley Cup the goal?

Canes fans says no to everything

It's clearly a win-win trade, and Hellebuyck would resign with them IMO
It's not THAT much future going the other way, maybe remove Gleb Trikozov but it's two good prospect with two late 1st + Suzuki
Getting a top goal scorer and Hellebuyck is definitely worth it IMO

Its not a factor of Helley re-signing with the canes, its the canes will not re-sign him. He would be 31 and regressing his entire very large contract. Canes don’t do those kinds of contracts. Just like Hamilton, they would offer a deal that is worth what age regression says he will be over the length. Of course the player doesn’t sign it because some Gm will give a large amount until he is 38.

Again the canes aren’t going to trade for a goal scorer just because they can score. If they don’t fit the system, which connor clearly doesn’t, then he isn’t a target for us

It’s as unrealistic to think the Canes would send this many futures out as it is that the Jets would trade both Hellebuyck and Connor in the same trade to the same team.

The value here isn’t terrible, and as mention by many people - it helps the Canes. It just isn’t the way the Canes do business.
