Make it a ‘24 2nd and/or increase retention on Hayes, and CBJ accept.

I think most of those are a bit weak for PHI

Not bad at all. My only concern would be the Toronto trade, cause I doubt Murray will not put Philly on his M-NTC.

You guys are going to lose your minds when Jarmo gives an actual fair offer for Hayes instead of the scraps u guys think u will end up giving up for him lmao. We retain, take a bad cap dump off ur books, and u still think a 2nd in a good draft is too much 😂

My favorite past time is watching Leafs fans trade Murray to teams he 100% won’t waive for lol. I know DirtyDangles does the same but who knows maybe he would like Philly 😂 doubt it but u never know

Yeah. I doubt it for two reasons.
1.) They are rebuilding and I doubt he wants to sit through that at the point in his career.
2.) His stint in Pittsburgh probably made him want nothing to do with Philly.

My reasoning would be that everyone tells Murray that he's going to be bought out either way so his NTC is irrelevant.

Good point, I just wonder if he would take that as "they buy you out and you get to sign with someone else" or "they buy you out and your NHL career is pretty much over."

It's either the Leafs buy him out or we do in this scenario...there is no other option

I really wouldn’t call an expiring contract with a $4M cap a dump, particularly with Rosy. Plenty of teams would give up a 2nd or so for him (check out some of the PIT ACGMs around here).

I would call a 3 x $7.1M contract a cap-dump, though. And PHI seems to agree.

But it's not $7.1 when you retain 30% now is it...and nobody is giving up a 2nd for Roslovic, I don't care what people in these forums think.

Exactly! It’s an awful contract that requires retention to be…not as awful. You aren’t moving him any other way.

Between an awful contract, age, a NTC, a known desire to leave PHI, and for PHI to leave him, nobody is giving up the haul some PHI ACGMs seem to think Hayes will get.

After all, “I don’t care what people in these forums think.”

I agree that nobody would touch him at $7+ mil but at $5 mil he has value and isn't just a cap dump.

Again, exactly.

And that value is probably a ‘24 2nd. If you want Roslovic as a throw-in, he’s yours, but he’s not any necessary part of a Hayes trade. He’s very movable and can be traded somewhere else.

I'd take whatever 2nd as I don't think anything substantial happens with CBJ next year. Still gonna be bad.

Oh, I agree; but probably not “2nd worst record” bad.

It’s probably the difference between picking 34OA vs 42 OA or something. But that’s still X number of draft spots “better.”
