WPG passes on the Marner trade. I'd rather have Connor for 3 more years at $7.1m than Marner for 2 years at almost $11m...that and the fact were also giving up Lowry (Captain conversation) and our 1st...

WPG doesn't need Brodie, but if you remove the 3rd round pick and leave it as a 5th, then fine. He's a good role model and team player. Great for mentoring the kids.

Marner is a very good hockey player, but that price is FAR too steep. Connor and Lowry together is enough to make that deal, but even then, WPG does not want to lose Lowry, as he is far too valuable to the team.

If you said Marner for Connor and Lowry without the draft pick, maybe. But Marner's contract is too much for a Jets team that needs to be rebuilding.

The first can come out in this trade. Would you accept?

As I stated above... "maybe". I DO NOT like Marner's contract, but he's a franchise player you can and should build around, so if push came to shove... Ya, I would do it if I was WPG.

I'm tired of Kyle Connor's casual play. So talented, but just doesn't want to be that all the time.

Lowry is tougher to let go of than Connor. He's so important to the Jets. He plays on the PK, takes a lot of defensive draws, can Center the 2nd or 3rd line and can play on the wing. Oh, and he's TOUGH. He steps up and fights anytime it's required.
