Sean Durzi is available, but the price is a 2nd and a "good" prospect. Neither of those guys are good.

Duchene’s contract is of little interest to Carolina even at 6.5 million.

Duchene is one of those guys that winning doesn’t follow

Barrie makes sense around the deadline when the isles have more cap flexibility, but rn they can’t afford Barrie. Also the isles have a severe lack of talent up front, and I don’t think that Barrie can mask that tbh.

Canes pass. That Duchene contract lasts WAY too long. The pure regression of that contract is enough to put anyone off

If I'm Carolina I'm keeping Teravainen at that point. They want to upgrade their roster in multiple ways next year. Not only is Teravainen better than Duchene, but even at $1.5M retained, Carolina doesn't have much flexibility when it comes to cap space. A reminder Andersen and Raanta are unrestricted free agents.

Isles could definitely use a guy for their PP but Barrie is not it. Too much money for a team with little cap space, even though they will probably part ways with Bailey this summer.

I’m curious how you think Teravainen is better than Duchene besides it only being your opinion. Because stats doesn’t back up your assessment

I mean if we are talking about the better player right now, I could see the argument for Duchene. All in all, I was accounting for contract, age, and injury history.
