That isn't getting Debrincat. It would AT LEAST have to be both the Dallas and Toronto picks 28 and 29 OA. Still doubt that is the offer they like.

Ottawa will give you DeBrincat if you swap out the #29 pick for the #10 pick.

Nah if they really want him they can let him sign the one year deal and target him in UFA after next year. No reason to spend anything close to a top 10 selection to acquire him

We are more likely to trade him before he even signs the one year deal though.

Then DeBrincat will sign an 8 year deal with another team.

And you think everyone around the NHL knowing you’re going to move him compels someone to offer a top 10? You all can probably look for exactly what this guy offered coming back. I’ll bet the return is a middle six winger a first and a second in alternating years. With the first being from 18-32

I'm not looking for a Top 10 pick.

I'm looking for a return that "saves face" from the trade with Chicago.

I don't care which team it comes from.

And what the OP is proposing for DeBrincat and what you're proposing are the same.

In case you didn't notice.

Yeah I did notice, that’s why I quoted your comment about #10. The OP is spot on on his guess. I don’t think you save face on this one. If you really wanna cash out you let him play next year and hope he returns to previous form and deal at the deadline. Good chance you could get a one and good prospect. Less than Meier more than Vladdy

I've seen quite a few people on here offer packages including unconditional 2024 1sts with no lottery protection.

Others have offered things like Pickering with #14 overall and Lapierre with #8 overall.

You're either trolling or severely underestimating what Ottawa could get in return for DeBrincat.

End of chat.

Would rather the Blues not pursue Debrincat.

Well Dubas ain’t making that deal as he just mentioned rebuilding their farm depth.

As far as the Caps, who knows. That won’t make them a playoff team so it seems like a terrible trade on their end.

The 24 first without protection isn’t scary when you think you’re making the playoffs aka 16-32. I’m just saying the return would be better the longer the Senators wait
