Trades
1.
LAK
  1. Blackwell, Colin ($600,000 retained)
  2. Mrázek, Petr
Additional Details:
Mrazek gives the Kings a cheaper option to bury/buyout.

By all means Blackwell doesn't have to be included.
CHI
  1. Anderson-Dolan, Jaret
  2. Petersen, Cal
  3. 2024 2nd round pick (LAK)
  4. 2025 6th round pick (LAK)
2.
LAK
  1. Swayman, Jeremy [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Is he the best option out there for the Kings? Probably not, but he's a lot more realistic to chase in regards to both cap and trade value.
BOS
  1. Durzi, Sean
  2. 2025 3rd round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
Low cap hit and team control will be a necessity to the Bruins this offseason.

Durzi slides into Orlov's spot in the top 4.
3.
LAK
  1. 2024 3rd round pick (VGK)
  2. 2025 3rd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
The unfortunate cap casualties.
PIT
  1. Grundström, Carl
  2. Walker, Sean
Additional Details:
The old Dubas stomping grounds.

Really just anywhere. I doubt there'd be a shortage of teams interested at a given price.

Fair. I figure the Bruins will want to ride Ullmark/Swayman for as long as the cap makes it possible.

Might do Ullmark for that. Not Sway.

Hawks won't burn one of their two remaining retention slots on Blackwell. So I'm guessing take him out since Kings can't afford his full cap hit? With that said, Hawks might consider this. Nice job coming up w/ something new!

Boston fans want to trade a goaltender to LA. They just want that goaltender to be Ullmark and they want to get back significantly more than this.

I'm mildly amused because the main argument for the haul for Ullmark is "He's going to win the Vezina this year!" but then they suggest that Swayman (who didn't win a Vezina) would cost even more.

Stay away from Boston's goaltenders.

Ah yes, McCabe’s on the books for 2 years yet. So that simplifies that deal.

Kings probably have a tough time sending Petersen without picking Mrazek up the other way. Figure the Hawks want to keep one of their NHL slots open for Soderblom/Stauber.

Wanted to try assembling a team without sending Arvidsson away, so Swayman is one of the few goalies that works cap-wise. Granted he’s young, posted solid numbers and has team control, so there isn’t a ton of incentive to move him unless they get a sweet deal.

Issue is the Bruins probably aren’t interested in futures and neither team can afford to add much more for roster players.

Hmmm... I like JAD and the 2nd is fine, but I really don't feel that is enough to take on Petersen's contract, even with Mrazek in the deal. The thing about Mrazek is, CHI has no need to dump him. If there is no need, then there is no value in it. Trying to balance value using something we don't need makes no sense for us. But, a creative proposal nonetheless!

This was part of the issue, as there’s no incentive for the Hawks in simply swapping bad contracts, which is why there still has to be picks/prospects going that way.
