Sharks arent gonna do that. Why take another year on a bad contract for nothing plus no way MEV waives his NTC

Mittelstadt and Jokiharju really don't hold much value. Both will be NHL regulars next year but definitely not two core pieces for Buffalo's future. Remove one of the firsts and it's still a bad trade for Vancouver.

I didn't at all say no value, I said not much. And by not much, I was talking about compares to the trade this guy made. Two firsts and a good prospect.

Looking at this deal, probably yes. Jokiharju is basically not worth much, but Mitts for 1st NYI + Podkolzin looks fair. Podkolzin hasn't shown anything in the NHL yet.

You're right about Podkolzin but I wouldn't do him + a first for Casey.

Doesn't cost the equivalent of 3 top 18 picks. Casey and Henri for our first alone at 11 would be ripe.

I value the contracts by both making 5 million in total which is why I put in 2 1sts and Podkolzin who hasn't really lived up to my expectations as a top 10 pick. Also they're both 1st round picks with Casey getting 59 points this season and Joker having potential imo.

Now with having Hronek on the team, they'd have to overpay him next season, as well as Petey's.

What about 2 1sts which includes ours alongside Pod or is that still an overpay?

Obviously this would be if Vancouver didn't get Hronek

This trade is an overpayment. Perhaps you are not quite right in evaluating Jokiharju.

Example: Jokiharju for Pod (maybe fair). Mitts for 1st NYI+ and this + not as big as 1st VAN this year.

The Buffalo trade is fair value for Buffalo but I don't think it's what they are looking for. Casey is a 60 point utility forward and Joker is a 2nd or 3rd pair RD with both players totaling 5M. I suspect the Sabres are looking for hockey trades instead of first round picks. But the value is there for sure.

Right but this stems from Detroit paying the same they shipped out Hronek for, which i don't see happening.

I would accept that deal as the Los Angeles GM.

The Anaheim trade is for your 2024 third, not a 2023 pick, because the transaction has to occur in the summer, i.e., after the 2023 draft.
