Kyrou and Krug to Canes

Created by: PuckShmuck87
Team: 2023-24 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 6, 2023
Published: Jun. 6, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
In five years, Berube and Ott haven't succeeded in getting Kyrou to play a 200' game. Time for a change. Let Brindamour have a crack at him. Krug will help CAR as a high-end 3rd LHD. Both these guys will compliment a solid roster well. The Blues' roster is a **** show.

Kyrou would be cool and all but paying Krug 4.75 million for 4 more years to be our 3LD seems a little too much to take that deal.

Blues aren’t trading Kyrou for futures lol

Kyrou is 25 and scoring pretty much near a PPG the last two seasons.

Leddy's already been a Hawk. Need to find a different team for him.

Kyrou is probably going to be 30-ish by the time you're competitive again... so why not trade him for futures that can pay off later

I would highly doubt it takes the Blues 5 years to get back to the playoffs.

As a playoff contender... Probably it takes less than 5 years, As a stanley cup contender... It's probably gonna take 5+ years

They may make the playoffs, but they'll never get past the first round. Participation is swell, but I'd rather be competitive.

Your team isn't going to be a true contender for a while considering the log-jam in the West... you might make the playoffs but you'll be a one-and-done in all likelihood

Let's talk about this... your going to be a wildcard at best in the west considering their are three very good teams in front of you in the central division and more than likely going to be contenders for while

Bro, climb down from the ledge. There's been like 5-6 Stanley Cup finalists who weren't in the playoffs the previous season in the last six years. The Blues rarely stay un-competitive for long. We'll be fine.

Oh dear lord. And which three teams are these unbeatable monsters all set for the future exactly?

Also, being a wildcard has not exactly kept teams from making runs in recent seasons.

Also, I'd ask how you know for a fact that the Blues won't be so good for years to come, but you have no idea. None of us can.

I'm not saying that they won't be good... i'm just saying the odds aren't in favor of it
Dallas, Colorado, Nashville and Minnesota will all probably be better for the next few years
I'm also not saying that you won't make a run... I'm just saying the odd's are against it

Hawks decline. We don't need defensemen. And 4Mx3 don't come free. I know you probably don't think he is a cap dump, but he is not an asset in the eyes of the Hawks.

What are you on about, man? Nashville??? Bruh. And then you have old-ass Dallas and Colorado and Minnesota, each of whom are in cap hell for at least two years. The Blues had a bad season, they're not a bad team. And they have a far better pipeline than COL and NASH, and are at least equal with Dallas. The Blues are almost always competitive, man. They'll work it out.

They have a more complete team and better guy in goal than you. They might be in cap hell but they all have stars... Kaprizov, Robertson, Hintz, Makar, McKinnon. They might have to lose some of the supporting cast but I still think those teams are still going to be better than you for the next few years. I agree about the competitive part but not like they are going to be Stanley cup competitive

Bro, the Blues have made it to the conference finals once in the past 50+ years. I'm afraid that your optimism is ill-founded.

Players like Brett Hull, Vladi, and Kyrou sell a lot of jerseys and they make lovely accessory pieces on teams that are already stacked and play the game the right way in spite of them. This roster can't carry guys like Kyrou.

Think about it. The players that play a game similar to Kyrou are all long gone from the playoffs. Marner and Panarin come to mind. They dazzle in the regular season, then disappear dhen the playoffs start.

Heh. Okay, man. Wow, imagine thinking Nashville had a more complete team than anybody or a better outlook than the crowd. That's just kooky. And yeah, big stars in Colorado and Dallas... watching from home along with Edmonton again.

1 - Fun fact: what happened 50 years ago and 30 years ago and 10 years ago and even five years ago has exactly nothing to do with anything. And ummmm they've made it to the conference finals twice since 2016 and three times since 2001 (in other words, 22 years), so I'm not sure which Blues franchise you're talking about.

2 - You know we just won a Cup with Vladi playing a huge part, right?

3 - In what way are Kyrou and Marner similar players? What???

4 - Kyrou scored 7 goals in 12 playoff games last season, dude. He also led the team in takeaways by a comfortable margin.

I think that Nashville has a lot more current pieces that can push them into a playoff spot and some promising prospects in Milwaukee that will help them.
