We do not want Nylander!
His situation isn't for Detroit.
Let teams looking for a rental trade for him, not teams in a rebuild.

Think you’re confused - Wings are rebuilding trying to make the playoffs, Leafs are pretty much a lock for playoffs, looking to take the next step. Why would Leafs trade a superstar in his prime off their roster & why would wings unload a bunch of promising prospects + picks 🤦🏻

Want to know what would be great? A team looking to win now getting assets that will help them win in three years, and a team looking to win in three years getting assets to help them win now.

Bad trade for both teams.

I mean if he's on the market for like a 7th rounder yeah I want him, but for what he's reasonably worth it doesn't make sense for Detroit to go for him.

Yeah we have no snipers. We also only have 1 good RHD, an alright goalie, and horrible forward depth. We have absolutely no notable RHD in the system, only have Mazur, Lombardi, Kasper, and Soderblom looking like good NHL forwards (great middle six guys maybe), and then Cossa whose been fine.

Nylander fills up one hole, but the cost to get him makes filling up the others holes much harder.

9 + 17 for Holl.

But yeah, I just mocked up my expected team for Detroit in two years without including expected draft picks.
Holes at #1,#3,#4 LW, #2 RW, and will have a hole at #2 RD the following year [have Wallinder there right now just because Määta is still contracted]. I left Berggren out since I think he could be used as trade bait for the #1 LW.
DeBrincat would be a good pick up as we can get him for a more reasonable price than Nylander, younger, and will probably be willing to sign here long term. I'd throw around Berggren and 17OA (but i won't publicly state I'd trade Berggren or else I'd be committing a crime to some of the Red Wings fans on this site).

Holl is free…take him. Please.

You should target Keller — not Hellen, she’s busy reffing the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Although I'd love Keller, and I wouldn't be completely opposed to him, same issue of leaving holes.

The big pieces are the hardest to get. Worry about the little ones after.

Keller was probably one of the best players in the NHL the 2nd half. Almost made watching Arizona bearable.

That's true however I fear that Arizona would be looking at Edvinsson/Kasper/Raymond to be apart of the trad, which are essentially untouchables barring the extreme.

If it they just wanted draft picks; they can take their pick of the litter.

Tough to say. I’d imagine a couple firsts and a 2nd would be close. Probably just need to add a prospect or player like Zadina. Tough to imagine anyone getting 3 firsts.

As implied earlier, I'd be ecstatic if we could get Keller for mostly picks. If it costs two 1sts and two 2nds -- I'd do that in a heartbeat. Cost controlled and probably becomes a 100 point player on a semi-competent team. I would try to keep one of the 1sts in this year's draft to try and trade up to get Willander or ASP; but if their terms are 9+17+42+43; yes from me.
