you better add a ton to the flyers side. Why would they trade hart for a 29 year old backup and the 20th overall pick?

I'd like to say this isn't enough, but the goalie market is thick and I think teams are going to go more towards a good tandem then a great #1. I think Briere wants to move Hart before Gibson, Hellebuyck, etc start moving and set the market. Frankly, turn the 3rd rounder into a 2nd and we'd probably take it.

Seems like I've underestimated his value in the eyes of some. I don't think he gets dealt if they're looking for much more than this.

Flyers won't get much more. No team will overpay for a G.

I agree, 100%. Goalie trades historically don't offer the value for the goalie, so IMO, the Flyers shouldn't trade him. The assets you're gonna get back for him will never be equal to what his value is. And you may be just as likely to not find another goalie for when you finally are competitve.

Let me start by saying Hart is a good man. But I wouldn't even give a 1st for Hart. He was a system goalie for Constantine in Everett, and that's not a system that the Flyers have played yet. Torts may get them there but it's going to take some roster turn over. I don't think he'd fair any better in Seattle's system so, to me, the cost of this trade is too high.
