Who Are Our Fabbri Trade Partners

Created by: dtd_tank
Team: 2023-24 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 8, 2023
Published: Jun. 8, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Fabbri is only 27 and has 2 years left at $4M AAV.

Over the past 3 years he's put up 34G + 30A. However, he's been limited to 114 GP due to injuries (0.56 pts/GP). When he has played, he's been pretty decent considering how rusty he should be.

So there are the full details. I don't think he has high value personally because of the unknown due to injuries. However, Detroit has a *lot* of wingers and I'd like to free up a spot for a rookie.

So which teams are actually interested in Fabbri, and what would you think is a fair price?

Fabbri for Johansen swap.

That doesn't clear a roster spot though 😕 only way I want to trade him for a player would be for a RHD or a major upgrade

Who do you want in the line up? Mazur? Soderblom?

Kasper is #1 for me. Past that, I think Mazur has a shot. Soderblom I think will be fine in the AHL as he matures into his enormous frame. I would also like to see Berggren and/or Zadina get more time in the middle 6 and Fabbri prevents that too.

Yeah I think of acquiring Johansen then Copp plays on the third LW. I am not opposed to keeping Kasper down for a bit to develop his game a bit more. I think Mazur could make the team.

I don't see any team paying value for him. Best case scenario is a high risk, high reward swap. I don't hate the idea of Johansen for Fabbri to fit this mold. The only other option out there that really fits the mold that jumps out to me is Kuznetsov, but I want nothing to do with him.

I don't think this would intrigue Vancouver, but they want to shed cap. What about something around these pieces?
To Det:
Myers, Boeser
To Van:
Fabbri

Add whichever way makes sense

Fabbri is the wrong player to trade.

Yes, we have too many left shooting wingers but Fabbri is the one of them that will bring the least return in any trade (except maybe Zadina). The obvious player to offer other teams is Kubalík, he scores just us much as Fabbri, he's healthy and have not had three knee injuries, his cap cost is half of Fabbri's.

What we can get back for Kubalík is going to be vastly more beneficial to the team than what we can get back for Fabbri.

Neither Fabbri nor Kubalík are are defensive stalwarts, they're both similar in their playing style and production. Both are somewhat one dimensional players that need to be sheltered in sniping roles and PP-roles. We only need, and have room for, one of them and the one to trade is the one that gives us the best return in any trade and that is Kubalík.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I want to move both. Fabbri is just the more complicated of the two squinting with tongue out
