That's fine, you aren't a wings fan and know 0 about what Yzerman has preached, or you wouldn't have made this atrocity

Detroit seems like a pretty realistic landing spot for Durzi. I don’t necessarily hate sending him there for a 2nd+.

What’re the chances the Kings can switch McIsaac for Viro or Johansson? McIsaac requires waivers, and that’d leave the Kings with 4 LD requiring waivers after resigning Tobi, not to mention also cutting into Spence/Clarke getting a spot.

I don't think that's an unreasonable request. I like Viro but he is buried in our depth.

As my esteemed friend @GabeVilardiFanAccount so accurately suggests, we'd only be interested in Viro or Johansson for this deal. But it's definitely a good idea.

Disagree.

Here's the thing:

Yzerman has spent assets and time and effort to amass as many draft picks he could get, speaking for several seasons about building through the draft and about having patience.

Now you've got rid of all those picks that he so diligently gathered and paid dearly for (Bertuzzi, Hronek) and you've on top of that given away one of the best players that Holland managed to draft in Berggren. You've also given up on our best scoring left winger (0.57 points per 60) in Fabbri.

You've paid 6 assets to get three players, one right shooting winger that cost 9 million+ to sign to a contract and scores 0.58 points per 60 5-on-5 (Fabbri scored 0.57 this season), one 30 year old centre that cost 8 million for two years and scored 28 points this season (we had 7 forwards scoring 28 or more this season), and one RD that was -12 on a team that was +23.

Forgive me if I live in a cave, is adjusted plus minus a stat? If it doesn’t already exist I want to make that happen. This is a much more useful way to look at plus minus and it never crossed my mind until seeing this comment

There are loads of stats that can be used in conjunction with each other in order to get a feel for how good a player is.

Don't look at takeaways or giveaways in isolation, look at them together and adjust for icetime.
Look at how many of a player's assists are primary ones. This is especially useful for defenders who often get assists without actually assisting very much.
Compare +/- with how the rest of the team did.
Make sure that any scoring stat is adjusted for icetime including the ones on PP.

No player can be understood by looking at stats alone but there are ways of getting useful information out of it.

If a defender is showing a negative +/- when the team is showing a positive and if he also is prone to making more giveaways than takeaways and any points he gets are secondary assists and the majority of them comes on PP - Then that defender may not be the best player to target for your team...

A variation of the Kings trade is very possible.

Preds trade is mildly possible but unlikely.

Sens trade is impossible because Cat won’t cost that much. NYI 1st and a 2nd or NYI 1st, Zadina, and a 3rd is best you’ll get.
