Also Dubois talks about wanting out is stated as red flag by many (for myself I don't buy the idea that the kid is a room cancer, but ...!). There's going to be multiple teams that want him, what it's going to come down to though is how many teams he wants to play for, if it's just MTL something like this (maybe slightly less) is all that it's going to take. Although, even if it's not just MTL I don't think it takes more.

I think something would get done sooner rather than later if it's just MTL, so I think Flr pick+ MTLs 2nd + Mailloux (for example) + Dvorak (probably doesn't have enough termm) or (maybe Anderson and a lesser prospect) is all that it would take. PLD is a good young C, but I don't think his return will even compare to injured Eichel's.

My offer here is quite close to what he can fetch. I don't think that 2023 picks are among the 1st they will get because team still want to have them at the draft. If a deal is made at this time probably 2024 1st will be on the table.

Honestly, it's probably better for MTL to give up the FLR pick rather than their own even though it's a deep draft. If they end up 11-15th OV next year there's still a good chance that guy turns out better than 31st OV in this draft, adding the 2023 2nd pick though might be an issue though since that player could still easily be round 1 caliber, so perhaps it's a 2024 2nd instead.

A big RHD with offensive upside like Mailloux probably won't even be on the table, especially since that is a need for MTL. So, maybe something more realistic is

2023 FLR 1st + 2024 MTL 2nd + Riley Kidney + Ylonen + Josh Anderson for Pierre Luc Dubois (signed at 8MX8)+ 2024 WPG (3rd/4th/5th).

MTL might need to shed some cap so it could be both Anderson and Dvorak going:

Structurally, not relative value-wise, the 1st is more like the Eichel trade while the second is a bit more like the Tkachuk trade.

You might be right about other teams offering 2024 1st and even MTL but I think Hughes might want to keep his own pick.

While I think WSH wouldn't mind moving up, they might not want to part ways with Iorio (idk) even so, his offense in the WHL doesn't compare to Mailloux's OHL production. Mailloux being a Quebec-born player and MTL pick probably doesn't get dealt even if they get him since it seems Hughes is collecting Quebec-born players.

MTL has Slafkovsky, he's not ready yet but better off giving him that ice time for when he is, Anderson doesn't fit the Habs timeline so dealing him should be a priority. On the flip side, WPG unless they are rebuilding is going to want a player with offensive upside that has term that can replace Dubois.

Lol, I'm guessing his parents are from Quebec but who knows maybe they are from some other francophone region or country. He's still an own (teams not Hughes) draft pick that looks promising, so Iorio would need to come in and show that he's not needed for him to get dealt imo.
