Getting Blake back is a pipe dream. Seems to be a lot of hurt feelings from being traded, so I don’t think he’ll be back. Really think we gotta slot in Nemec. I was already right about moving on from Severson.

I’d like to see us preserve the slide year. Nemec on ELC in 2023-24 is probably not much better replacement. Nemec on ELC in 2027-28 could be ginormous advantage.

No incentive to make that trade for Seattle.

Also, it's highly reported that New Jersey won't be qualifying Blackwood. I don't see a lot of teams acquiring his RFA rights when they can try for him as a UFA, especially considering his 3.360 million QO to retain negotiating privileges beyond July 1st.

Blackwood - It’s also been reported that there are teams interested in trading for him, and this is about as light of a return I could come up with…so who knows? Maybe it’s for another similar player somewhere. It’s not a big deal either way.

Schultz - I thought they were considering moving him? He would be good short-term option for NJ. Kind of a Severson-lite to pair with Luke Hughes for a year. If he did become available, I could see NJ interested.

Except it really isn’t an advantage. If he’s comes off the ELC the year before, he’s the only big name needing a contract that summer. Nico is due for another contract that following summer. You got Mercer off ELC after ‘24, Holtz and Hughes after ‘25. Why not have Nemec off ELC in ‘26? Especially when Nico needs to be the focus the following year….

I hadn't heard either of those rumors/reports. If you know your source on the Schultz rumor, appreciate you sharing.

I'd say if a team were trading for Blackwell's rights, they've probably got a deal done or are okay letting him walk July 1st if they can't get a deal done. I just don't see anyone qualifying him at that number, but stranger things have happened!

I don’t have any rumor/source….just saw people on here saying he could be moved. I would just defer to Kraken fans who would know a lot better than I would.

It could be $5-7m in cap space smack in the middle of our competitive window. Why give that up to play 14 min a night as 19-year old? It’s a HUGE advantage.

We just have to find a rental 3RD or roll with Walsh for a year. Promoting Nemec now would be regrettable move later.

Gotta disagree with you man. We have no idea what the salary cap will be next season, let alone three years from now. There’s no reason his first contract off the ELC wouldn’t just be a bridge deal anyway. We just had no issue wasting a year off Luke’s contract…..

If Coleman accepts to waive his no trade, then the Flames. accept. I like Coleman and what he brings, he has a great chemistry with Backlund and Mangiapane. That said, the $5M caphit, and the term make Coleman expandable in my eyes. Essentially he wasn't enough of a game changer to warrant that sort of salary in CGY, and he's only going to get older.

Right, but we could have not signed him till after the season if all three ELC years were so vital
