Easy decline for caps. Awful trade for them.

You forgot to add the 1st round pick as an incentive to take on Petry's contract. In a cap world, he is a negative asset.

I don't know how much gas Jeff Carter has left in the tank, but I've always wanted to see him in a Habs jersey, so I'd gladly take the deal for Armia.

He's not going to cost a 1st to get rid of at a cap hit of only 4 mil. Petry at 4 mil for 2 more years is not bad at all

If it's not bad at all, why trade him? Why does every single Pens fan want him gone?

He's a negative asset buddy, that's all there is to it.

He is a negative asset, but not to the extend it will require a 1st to get rid of him at 2 mil retained. We want him gone because we have one of the oldest teams in the league and he doesn't fit our system at all. If we had him at 4 mil probably wouldn't be as eager etc trade him. He wasn't awful last year was just kind of meh. 6 mil for him is bad no doubt. 4 mil is alright. For a young team who needs a RD he's not a bad choice.
