like with kk the offer sheet just gets him to montreal and then you give him the big money the next year so they can work but montreal wwont do more than 8 mil so if dubois wants to hit a home run moneywise it wont be in montreal... That's the opposite of the KK offer sheet. KK was paid a ridiculous $6M+ for one year, which would have handcuffed the Habs the next year because they then would have had to give KK a raise on that to hold his rights. Instead, KK took the $6M and then signed an extension for $4M/ year, which might still be too generous.

yes it is different but similiar remember montreal cannot sign him to an offer sheet for 7 or 8 years because when winnipeg matches dubois is stuck.. so it would have to be just like the KK offer sheet at 6.3 mil and winnipeg cant match because they cant trade him then and he walks away for nothing in a year. so it would be a one year offer sheet. No matter anyway he will be traded by the draft i am sure.
