Swayman gets a 1st and 3rd. 🙄

20 man roster.

2 terrible signings.

This is a fail.

What's amazing is the Swayman trade isn't even the most head scratching part of this ACGM. JFK hasn't played ANYWHERE in 2yrs, but apparently he's going to be Boston's #3C next year Huh?

While that's good value for the CBJ, they'd have to figure out what to do with Elvis, because they can't afford to pay both him and Swayman after this coming contract. Not to mention that Tarasov is no longer waivers-exempt, so that makes roster management extra hard.

But also this trade would never happen, so whatever.

So now the Bruins are going to trade a 24yr old goalie whose put up top 10 numbers over the last 3 season....for a guy that is rumored to be under investigation due to the Team Canada scandal. Why is Boston also signing Toews to a 2yr contract at $1 million a year? Assuming he wants to come back, why wouldn't Boston just sign Bergeron to a $1 million deal and load it with bonuses like they did this year?

Not sure if you seen Berg leaving the ice didn't look like a guy who's coming back. Also Swayman is Rfa, wouldn't be getting more than what compensation would be.

Very insightful

Seriously man, for a team to give Sway an offer sheet that Boston would not match the compensation would be 1st/3rd. They are not letting him go for less than that.

They will try to keep both goalies, don’t think they will be able to, it’s up to Sway though. If not they will try to move Ully first. In order to move Sway it would have to be a pretty quality return.

The last time B’s were in this situation they had a young goalie that was an RFA who put up good numbers in limited backup role. They traded him for a late 1st and Kuraly. Martin Jones.

Sway is better than Jones, played more than double the games when they hit RFA, has been co #1/1b the last 2 years as opposed to backup.

Quite frankly a pair of 3rds is laughable.

They said the same thing last year about Bergeron because he did nearly the same thing.....

The Bruins will be playing their 100th season, Bergeron doesn't look like a guy that has seen his game deteriorate. His best friend and career linemate Brad Marchand as 2yrs left before he likely calls it a career. I wouldn't be shocked at all to see Bergeron go 1 maybe even 2 years and then retire with Marchy. As for Swayman the compensation would all depend on the offer sheet. His market value is around $4 million. This would be a 2nd round comp on an OS. The problem, Boston easily matches a $4 million OS. So a 2nd round pick isn't going to be enough for Boston to move him. They also have the ability to move Ullmark and make Swayman their top guy. Boston is 100% in the driver seat with Swayman and won't take any that isn't above market value.

I don't think its up to him at this point unfortunately, I don't think his body can withstand another year, and playing in game 82 solely so his dad could see him play one last time doesn't seem like a guy that's coming back. But I do hope I am wrong

There is one major detail that people leave out when they bring this up.....Bergeron's dad has been battling cancer and they don't know how much longer he has. Bergeron wanting to play in front of his dad one last time had more to do with him possibly not being able to due to thing out of his control than it did Bergeron calling it a career. Now I'm not saying Bergeron is 100% returning, but people like yourself are reading way to much into how he acted after being eliminated and misrepresenting the reason he wanted to play in front of his dad one last time.
