From a legal perspective yeah it's totally okay for players to do this.

From like, a moral perspective? I don't know, why wouldn't it be? It's kind of ridiculous that you have to wait until you're 26 or 27 to pick your team anyway.

Every fan likes player movement until a player says they don't want to re-sign with that fan's team.

From a team perspective, it sucks that you invest in a player and don't have a chance to even sign them to play. You draft so well that the player can choose who he signs with.

From a player perspective, if your good enough to force this situation, why not choose your spot?

I would like the nhl to set up a little more of an advantage for the team that drafted a player to offer more incentives to stay, possibly a player that doesn’t count against the cap or more years or something.
