roster changes

Initial Creation Date: Jun. 13, 2023

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I misspelled a lot, so don’t hate, was not taking my time and seeing what I typed correctly lol

anyways

c. brown signs 1 yr at a cheap price, after missing a entire year practically, even after a good year in his final year before being going to the caps

bouch continues his growth and signs long-term, before we end up doing a d. nurse situation again

n. jenson 50% retain for ceci and a pick, ver d going to a playoff contender team while caps retool, after missing the playoffs

hearing olofsson was worth around a 3rd or a 4th by many saber fans on social media, so yam goes with a 2nd round pick to get retain salary, to fit the oilers cap situation

not sure of nick sealers value or anything, so idk :,)

klim shady wants to stay after having a great start as a oiler, so he signs under $1 mil for 2 yrs to build up his growth for 2 yrs

ZAR comes on a 1 yr deal at dirt cheap, reason? why not

And it’s Nick Jensen

I’m so confused by the caps trade, even the explanation doesn't make sense

Yes, the Sabres are looking to shed Olofsson from the roster but not to add another underachieving forward from the outside - they need his roster spot for their prospects to graduate into this fall.

That Nashville trade is fine by me. Milwaukee could certainly use more depth

although I agree, but Yams can definitely use a refresh scenery, before covid shut the league down, he was statistically really well, maybe him on a line with Tage and someone else could respark his game?

Sabers can always move someone older for a spot for their young guns

I'm just gonna start posting this every time someone makes an ACGM with the Caps trading away Strome, Milano, Jensen, or TVR.

Even if they hadn't just extended him, that's an absolute garbage offer.

Others may disagree, but anything less than a second the Sabres probably would not want to trade him.
Over the last 3 seasons he has averaged 1.159 goals per 60 (https://www.quanthockey.com/nhl/seasons/last-3-nhl-seasons-forwards-stats.html).
IMO the Sabres would want to trade him for a RHD, so Yamamoto does not fit that catagory.
Buffalo may have some interest as he does KP, his salary would be closer to a middle six forward and Buffalo has too many options to consider adding another one.
IMO the value would certainly get Buffalo's attention, but they probably would pass on the deal.
