What possible incentive would Buffalo have to take on Murray's contract - even with that minimal retention - when he spurned their interest last summer, nevermind his continued problems with being injured so often? At least some of the other proposals from Leafs' fans trying to dump Murray on the Sabres acknowledged the reality of having to add a sweetener like a 1st or 2nd round pick.......

Last time I checked, the Sabres weren't in the business of doing favors for other teams by taking hand-me-down problems.......

They would only be saving 1.5 million instead of buying him out They are going to have to offer a sweeten to take him.

Matt Murray had a .903 save percentage while playing for one the best team in the league in regular season, no he wouldn't been their best goalie last year lmao

UPL and Comrie were terrible. Couldn’t stop a beachball. Buffalo had one of the top offences in the league. Anderson was only good for one start a week.

There goaltending wasn’t even good enough to make the playoffs. Buffalo needs to admit they need an upgrade in net. Comrie was bad. UPL has never solidified himself as an NHL goalie. Wildly inconsistent and falls apart after a couple bad goals. I doubt you’ll see either with the Sabres in the near future.

Levi needs an NHL veteran to play with. That is not Anderson who should retire. That is not UPL or Comrie who arebad. Not saying it has to be Murray but they need to go out and get someone. I am saying Murray was better than UPL or Comrie by a pretty good margin.

Being better than Comrie and UPL doesnt mean much, Buffalo is a much worse team than the Leafs and their defense was awful. Murray might be a better goalie but not 6m/year better

They aren’t that far off. They are a young fragile team. One that feeds off of momentum, but can also get crushed by it. They have a very solid group of forwards. Dahlin and Power are studs. Samuelsson is great but is being asked to do too much, he needs help — another top 4 defender — but goaltending will make the biggest difference. Look how they played when Levi came in at the end and Levi was still getting used to the league. A good goalie would do wonders for this team and if Adams can’t find one than Murray would still be an upgrade.
