I think he's played himself into the 4.5m - 6m range with term tbh. Was bound to happen. he was vital in any role you threw him into on STL. Alot like a Killorn or Palat type of player.

Pesce would need to come with an extension. Greig is not likely ready but he would slot in the top 6 you save 1.65 vs paying 2.5 , skim a bit off of Brannstrom towards signing a goalie. It fits but an unlikely scenario,

Was assuming both Debrincat and Pesce would need to be extended for it to make sense.

Not a Sens fan, so i am not really sure how ready their top prospects are and I'm not as familiar with The bottom 6 (4th line here to know if it's sufficient)

I mean they're all hypothetical scenarios right? I'm not really encouraging things, just looking at scenarios

Except then a bunch of Sens fans flood the AGMs with it and swear it's good because a Blues fan suggested it. Chabot is not the D we need and Kyrou is going nowhere. Nor should he.

Could certainly do much worse. He's a young top pair defenseman. Our only top pair defenseman isn't exactly fantastic at moving the puck. It's not necessarily a surefire solution. But it surely is one of the better options that would be available. I'd imagine New York will move whatever they can to retain Miller, and personally that would be available I think he's the only other realistic shot you have at a top pair Left D that may be available that's within the new Cores age range.

Where does this idea that Parayko doesn't move the puck come from? He doesn't need a puck mover next to him. We've seen what happens when he is with Krug or Leddy. He needs a J-Bo next to him. Chabot is not the right guy to chase. And there's no need to square peg this with a guy who makes 8M.

From me it's coming from watching him almost every game. His first pass isn't his strength. His skating is, it's how most of his zone exits occur. I can't get this burning image out of my head of Parayko and Mikkola being on the ice together with Thomas, Buch and Kyrou up front and the pairing rimmed/dumped the puck around the boards at least 5 times until there was a line shift. Maybe our forwards were the issue there, and are the issue alot. But Chabot is alot more than just a puck mover. But he is very good at moving the puck as well.

Parayko doesn't typically try to first pass outlet like Petro did. He's much more likely to pass simply or skate it out himself, which is also puck moving.

Chabot is not a good defender and he gives the puck away more than Parayko by a significant margin. And his offensive skills are not so great as to be worth his salary and DEFINITELY is not worth giving up Kyrou for. That's just nuts.
