The only reason the sabres are trading ollofsson is to potentially clear a roster spot so this wouldn't make sense for buffalo

If Schmidt only had one year left on his deal I'm wouldn't hat the trade, but 2 years at almost 6 mil is tough.

Because it's ejaculatingly good for the Jets -- they get rid of an almost untradeable malcontent, slide out from under more than $8 million for his single-season cap hit, and dump over $6.6 million in other cap while incurring only $894,167 on the way back, unless Clarke and/or Turcotte makes the team this season. How the Kings are going to deal with the $13 million+ cap discrepancy isn't HIS problem.
