Sabres 17-18 Revamped

Created by: kempjl01
Team: 2017-18 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 22, 2017
Published: Jun. 22, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Trades:

NYI and BUF: Have each what the other wants/needs in a top 6 forward (Sabres) and a top 4 D (Islanders) Kane and Bogo plus an early 2nd (now without their 1st round pick Islanders) give up the rights for De Haan and Winger Chimera. Yes Bogo is not De Haan, however it would fill a hole of loosing a D, and still acquiring a top 6 forward.

STL and BUF: Sabres are looking to ship Sam out of town and STL is looking for a Top Center, whelp Sam fills that hole however, If that is the case the Blue's will be looking to ship out prospects. This deal only gets down if Petersen does not elect to sign with us. We get Fitzpatrick in return along with Fabbri and either STL or WSH 1st round pick in return in my eye those two are not worth Sam and hence why I put STL 1st round pick in here.

Free Agents:
Oshie seems like a perfect fit for this team, speed, scoring somewhat a Kane without the issues, only better.

Bonino obviously to fill in the hole Sam leaves, much cheaper option in my opinion, once Sam's entry level deal is over.

Leaves the Sabres with 7 Million in cap room for Jack and Antipin if he is great this year. Georges is off the books next year.

I'd take this if there was a little bit of salary retention or if the deal was structed a little bit differently, Bogos $5 mil cap hit would be a killer for the Isles

This is true and your right retaining 1.5 is ideal, however Snow is in "We need to show John we want to win" mode, I think anything he can do will do.

I understand that but adding Bogos contract for the next 3 years doesn't do anything good for the Isles. They're not trying to show Tavares they're gearing up for a 1 year cup run. They're trying to sell him on a playoff/cup team for years to come. Snow's clearly on the hot seat right now but a trade with that much cap coming back, I think Snow would look elsewhere or have Botterill play with the offer.

Makes sense I corrected the trade and I actually could see the retained salary on both to give relief to the cap for the NYI in this trade for FA.

A trade like that I think Snow would have a tough time declining unless he has better offers, well done.
