First, price was reported by David Pagotta 2 weeks ago https://twitter.com/TheFourthPeriod/status/1666243023548854273?s=19

Second, Trotz said in an interview recently he would only consider moving Saros or Askarov for an elite 1C or the ability to get one. He also stated that he would listen to offers on every player in NSH's system for the right price.

NSH is perfectly happy repeating what they did with Rinne/Saros with Saros/Askarov. NSH has the cap to offer Saros whatever he wants, and if wants to walk then I'm confident a trade to a contending team at the deadline would give NSH more (e.g. LA who are in the same position as last year now without Korpisalo)

Prior to Hellebyuck making it known he didnt want to return to WIN it was speculated that Hellebyuck will fetch a package from BUF of UPL, Rosen, and 13OA this year should they pursue him. Saros has similar numbers and NSH should expect something similar in return.

Elite goaltending doesn't grow on trees. Your offer of a goalie prospect NSH has no need of and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd is no where close to what has been reported, nor taking into consideration what NSH needs. I have seen better offers from other ACGM's here that are significantly higher than what you have that I would agree to. There is a difference between shopping a player and listening to offers that other teams make. Shopping is when you call them, not the other way around.

Ah multiple first and prospects. Not sure how many 1sts, not sure what prospects. Not sure who said what, not sure why it fell through. Not sure what will happen next. Definitely sure it's two firsts and an A prospect based on my own spin. An elite 1C? We're going to talk about what does or doesn't grow on trees?

It was speculated that Hellebuyck would fetch that? What does that even mean, that someone just decided to say it? You realize how sports media works right?

As a fan of a team that Is not the Preds I am happy to see you do the same thing you did with Rinne/Saros as well, letting one walk for nothing and now starting to fall out of contention. Please do pay two elite goaltenders, one into his 30s as you fall further from contention and your future assets grow more depleted. I enjoy you not being the contender you once were.

By the way, yes Saros is a great goaltender. He placed top 3 in vezina voting once when he had the 9th best save percentage in the league, and his two other top 10 finishes were both at 6th. He is 3 and 7 in the playoffs. Take it easy on pretending he is a generational goaltender in the ilk of Vasi, Hellebuyck or Price.

First of all, of course Nash is shopping him. They are going to be rebuliding or at the very least retooling and have an elite goalie prospect in Askarov to fill those shoes. You literally said they aren't shopping him then claimed to know the price. What do you consider shopping?

Saros is 28 and has 2 years until he's a UFA. Why would they happily hang on to him and let him walk for nothing? People can make up whatever rumours they want, if your source is Michael Gallagher then you have no leg to stand on.
There aren't a ton of comparables but here are the closest :

Leafs trading for Andersen, who at the time was younger, had been performing better than Saros is now, and was signed to a 5 year deal rather than 2. He went for a late first and a second.

Dallas got a 5th round pick for Ben Bishop, who was one of the best goalies in the league at the time, for Cernak, Budaj and a 7th

Luongo (also one of the best goalies in the league at the time) and steven anthony (?) were traded for Shawn Mathias and Markstrom (when he was completely irrelevant, going on to do next to nothing for Vancouver).
San Jose paid a 5th for Dubnyk and a 7th after a stretch with Minnesota where he was one of the league's best goaltenders.

2 1sts and an A prospect? Take a step back and question whether that makes any sense at all.

FWIW Andersen did not have a new five year contract in place, at the time of his trade to TOR. The Leafs gave that to him day later. He wasn't performing better then, than Saros has been for the past few years. Andersen had lost his starter's job to Gibson, at the time.

I think you're mixing up a few of Bishop's trades. He was traded WITH a 5th by TBL for Cernak, Budaj & a 7th. He was a 30 year old rental at the time. DAL traded a 4th for his rights in the off-season.

Luongo was in his mid 30s at the time of that trade, and signed to a now illegal terrible contract that paid him into his 40s.

Dubnyk was a 34 year old cap dump having a terrible season, at the time of that trade.

Regardless of what the current market for star goalies might be, you've got Samsonov commanding a better return than Saros, which doesn't compute. He's coming off a good season playing with a strong team, but Saros has been consistently elite for a long time.

Ah yes a top pairing d-man who was a big part of helping to shutdown Kuch and Stamkos two years in a row would be replacement level on a team who couldn't even make the playoffs. You say he struggled before but he is literally 25, a former first round pick and was a top 10 goalie in the league in his first year with a decent team. Give up a ton to see? You mean a 28 year old winger who scored 27 goals, 66 points and went -31 in 82 games, whose contract has expired and who is unwilling to resign with you? That and a 2nd, for a legitimate top 4 D (who has played the right side his whole career btw) and a goalie who is cost-controlled that could be the long term solution as your starter?

Obviously the disconnect here lies in your evaluation of Samsonov, to each their own. I absolutely think that if Ottawa wasn't willing to pay late 1st and 2 seconds for Samsonov and Brodie, that a team like Edmonton, Buffalo or Detroit would.

Hey if you think that, then you have fun

Easy no for the Avs and you Toronto fans need to stop with the daily Nylander to the Avs BS just 'cos some journo speculated on it. You won't likley be getting Toews or even moreso Byram. You certainly won't be getting anything added to it. It's getting boring now!
