Description
I am reading a lot of articles that is putting Seattle in the mix for EK..?

I am assuming with the run they had this playoffs they believe they are only 1 or 2 pieces away from being in the final conversation.

The trade proposal hits our needs but I am unsure if Seattle want to take the next 4 year gamble, or even if EK believes they are in contention, at the end of the day he holds the all the aces.

I believe that there will be some draft day trades but I have no idea the direction MG is facing for getting the sharks back to playoff contention.

We hold a very valuable pick, especially with teams drafting 5,6,7. depending who goes 3 we could use Michkov as a leverage piece and teams will likely overpay if they are really set on him. Maybe Arizona's 2 1st? but that is a lot to give up.

If Arizona did want to trade up to grab him before Montreal grabs him, if in fact they want him, Sharks could grab Rienbacher and Dvorsky (if they are available that its) with the 2 1st coming back from Arizona??

Graves signing is roughly what he was getting last few seasons and the Borgen signing could be way off price.

Murray could be a good pick up, less pressure on a smaller market team and if returns to some what of his former self we could resign him to a cheaper deal much like Riemer was for us the past few seasons until either Chrona, Mak, Kak or Rom are ready to compete..?

other then that the whole team is best case scenario in my eyes, pricing could be way off but none of us really know what MG is thinking regarding this draft so he could be very active or stay in bed.

Isles have no interest in Labanc when they are already trying to move Bailey.

Seattle would be silly to include Wright in the package.

I think people are going to be surprised how little San Jose will get back for Karlsson. At 11.5m a year I think ZERO teams would take him for free. That's my hot take.

Only 3-4 teams would take him at 9m a year. So even then his value wont be crazy.

At 7.5m he starts becoming very desirable and that's where I see his value really starting to take off.

Now if San Jose decides to do a full 50% retention, that's where they will get a serious haul for him.

Hopefully not at all (EK to Seattle), but if so, definitely not Wright.

Also Toronto and Islanders both decline easily.

Leafs would just buyout Murray if it's going to cost that much.

I agree with you, the haul isnt going to be any where near what fans think just purely based on one season, even at 9mil with his injuries and what not thats a huge gamble. I was only going for best case scenrio from a Sharks POV

And hopefully they retain to the point of maximum return

Normal year maybe #6 & #12 for #4 but not in this draft - #12 is too good
AZ counter w #6 & #38 for #4 but doubt SJS do that

I don't think you get either, but could be wrong.

I see it being something like Karlsson @8.5M-9.5M for 2024 1st (top 10-protected)+Borgen+3rd/4th+ cap component(s) (Schultz and/or Driedger).

If I'm wrong then maybe they get Lind but not Firkus instead of the 3rd. Possible that the rights to Sprong are included instead as well if he's priced himself "out" (and depending on his value on the trade market).

6&12 is roughly the same value as 4&26 according to most models that assign points to draft picks to determine worth so there is maybe something there

5 first rounders in this draft would be a nice way to speed up the rebuild. Plus $10 mil in cap space they could use to pick up additional assets.

That’s the only acceptable way to speed up a rebuild in my books
