Just too much for the isles to give up and they cannot afford to give Debrincat that contract and sign Sorokin to an extension.

Bailey's buyout loses a mil next year and Palmeri becomes a buyout candidate at a 1.6 million cap penalty. That frees up 4.5 million dollars + the cap going up 1.5-2 million hopefully. That gives the Isles around 6 million dollars to play with in context on adding to Sorokin's deal. That would make him a 10 million dollar goalie (which they shouldn't do) but they could definitely have the space to sign him

There is no reason to buyout Palmeri, he has been the most consistent Isles wing when healthy.

In addition that is still 5 valuable pieces the isles would be giving up which they should not do. Wahsltrom was playing very well before injury, Pageau is still an elite 3C for them and they cannot afford to give up more 1st round picks.

The Isles will focus on signing a UFA like Tarasenko or Engvall to come back.

Hawks decline. They have zero need for Clutterbuck.
