Vancouver declines. Any trade with EP or Quinn to TO involved Knies and Neimela

We can do Neimela. Knies is staying put. Leafs are nuts if they trade that kid. WIth an offensive Dman coming back, it makes sense to move Neimela. But losing WIllie in the trade means Knies is getting an elevated role.

Even with Knies included I doubt the Leafs can make an offer that would make the Canucks move Hughes

You might be right, but there's no player on the Canucks other than him that would pull Nylander, Liljgren, Knies and Neimela. If Pettersson was on a long term deal at his current cap hit, that would be an option, but he's gonna be looking at a bigger raise than Nylander is.

Canucks have one of the worst D cores in the NHL, the last thing they are doing is moving their best defender on a great contract.

Nylander has only one year left on his contract while Hughes has 4. For that reason, I don't think I'd do it if I was Vancouver. Also, I don't think Hughes is what Toronto needs.
