Team's good but not necessarily made any better by the moves you made.

The difference in ability between Boqvist and Lowry is negligible and is nowhere near enough to warrant the Devils giving up a 1st in this trade.
I'd rather just the Devils resign Haula to play 3C, he's a fair bit better than Boqvist and Lowry anyway.

Barbashev at 6m x 5 would be a major mistake and unlikely to live up to that cap hit even his first year.
This would soon turn into a complete anchor for the Devils as they attempt to resign Mercer, Nemec and Hughes in future seasons.
The Devils already have such a problematic contract like that in Palat anyway.

I could get behind the idea of playing Johnson at 3RHD for one year as to late Nemec develop one more season in Utica but I'd rather they give that 3RHD spot to Reilly Walsh, there's a lot more upside in him.

Giving that much up for Trenin reads like a bad idea, achieves absolutely nothing other than pissing a fair bit of draft capital up the wall.
Rather just play one of Boqvist, Foote or sign someone like Archibald for that spot if need.

Nix Lowry deal altogether - we have McLeod already.

Trenin maybe, but would have to do something with Nolan Foote as he is slated for that 4LW spot and has to clear waivers. Probably just keep Foote.

Barbashev - $4m x 3 years….anything higher or longer, I would skip.

Johnson signing is interesting….I guess I always assumed he would be back in Colorado.

Keep Blackwood or Boqvist and add Sharangovich and that'd be a great trade for the Jets, an overpay but great.

Ultimately the Jets love Lowry and won't trade him.. 🙄

Wow, finally another team sees the value in Lowry that WPG knows he brings. Nice offer for a guy that means so much to WPG.

Not saying WPG accepts, but I'm impressed that someone outside of WPG sees how valuable Lowry is.

Perfect 3C for a cup contending team. I wish the Kings could acquire him, but not with our cap situation.

As you noted and too few people know outside of WPG... Lowry is SOOOOO much more than a 3rd line C. He would be AMAZING for LAK. He kills penalties, takes D zone draws all the time, can play up on the 2nd or 1st line Wing, fights everyone and usually wins, but if doesn't win, he slightly loses and has never been knocked down. He's SOOOOOO important to the Jets. He's the X-Factor that could help contending teams.
