Initial Creation Date: Jun. 19, 2023

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Please don't read too much into the lines/contracts/cap hit. I made this more so to get feedback on the trade value from MTL/LA/DET fans.

Are my values totally off or at least close?

Feedback either way is MUCH appreciated as I realize I am probably off.

Thanks in advance!

If that was the price... the trade would have already happened.

I do agree but I am just trying to be realistic. I am not expecting a massive haul for PLD but maybe I'm being too modest with this one.

Certainly not giving up two strong pieces (Rasmussen and 17) for a 30 year old taint that's an impending UFA.

Ship him off elsewhere.

As time wears on this could very well be what it ends up being, to me every day this drags on the value stagnates a bit.

I don't see a bidding war being created at all, I can see a limited group of teams being interested and Duchois giving Jets management and his agent a short list of teams he'd be willing to sign long term with which inevitably makes the return fairly similar whether it's from NY, LA, the Habs or any other teams involved.

I just don't see NY coming in and offering a Lafreniere instead of a Dvorak or the Canes offering a Morrow instead of a Kidney if ya get what I'm saying.

Personally I'd consider keeping Scheifele if Wheeler can be traded or bought out and if they don't want to rebuild.

What???? You don't want a 50' player that likes to sit in the slot and wait for a puck and no one likes him?

Wow...

**** you're right.
I think we should give a fantastic top 9 guy who is one of the few physical pieces we have AND a pick that'll be able to nurture one of our holes!!!

It may be down to PLD negociating a contract with the few teams involved.

I doubt MTL will offer more than what Suzuki is making (7.875M$ x8y) after coercing Caufield to accept less.

LA is also bound by the cap - which makes it unlikely that they beat MTL for the dollar figure.

I expect the Kings to have the best trade offer... but they can't offer what PLD wants.... while MTL probably got a deal in place, but the trade proposal is underwhelming.

I think it will come down at the draft depending on who is available for MTL at 5.

I think LA can easily offer Duchois what he wants but the Jets have to take back some cap which they should be willing to do cause the players the Kings would need to move are actually useful players that the Jets could use BUT the Jets are stupid and would probably balk at taking an Arvidsson and/or Iafallo... 🙄.. lol 😆

Keeping Scheifele would be an absolute mistake. Dude has quit on 3 coaches. Bowness was clearly pissed right off by the way scheifele was playing the last half of the year. Can’t continue to allow this toxic culture to grow.

Think LA is where Dubois ends up. Feel like Chevy would lick his chops at the idea of bringing in arvidsson. If LA is willing to move Vilardi think it gets done.

What are your thoughts on how things play out if Smith is gone at 5? Bedard, Fantilli, Carlsson, Smith.

Does MTL take a chance on Michkov? Do they trade out of the pick? Do they take a Dman?

I should have clarified...I made this trade assuming Helle extends. My bad,

Fair enough, but I still don't think the Kings do that considering how large the extension would likely be and with their current cap situation.

Couldn't agree more. Keep Scheifele. We will not be able to replace a 40 goal scorer. I don't believe in all of the noise about him. His teammates voted for him to be a leader, so it cannot be that bad. I have also never heard a single player come out and actually name him specifically, just a bunch of assumptions. He is a good hockey player who just needs consistency, not different line mates all of the time. plus/minus is a stupid stat. There are always 5 other players on the ice that contribute to that stat.
