If the Leafs are genuinely trying to unload Brodie, then I think they'd like this deal more than most being proposed rn.

To all A-GM users. Stop trying to trade Detroit your trash LHD. We don't need them. We don't want them. And we're certainly not giving anything up for Cody ****ing Ceci

They’re not going to it’s just Servalli pulling something out of his ass again but the rational is his cap hit is $0 if he’s bought out. Problem is there’s absolutely no way you’re replacing him without giving up heavy assets.

well first off hes a rd, care to explain why he's trash after playing 2 full seasons of top minutes against top comp? he wont play on Detroit's top pair but is a good bottom pairing guy for an up and coming team

I get all leaf fans hate Servalli, but I doubt he makes up something like this, I dont see it happening either way though

Hey Gary,

I know you mean well, just wanted to say as polite as I can, Yzerman had a presser today which basically said this won't happen.

Thanks and have a great day

Yea I knew he was a RHD I'm dumb.

If he's a strong depth D, why wouldn't a team like Edmonton, who was exposed at 5on5 vs Vegas, want to keep him?

because we have broberg, kulak, and desharnais as our 5/6 d men, and we instead need a top 4 dman with a good cap hit, and is good defensively for nurse

So you think the Wings want a guy worse than Kulak and Desharnais, and would trade a pick for him?

My point isn't that Edmonton should keep Ceci. My point is you aren't considering the team you're trading him to at all. It's just "Wings didn't make playoffs and have cap space, they'll take our leftovers. And we can even sneak a 4th from him"

Good rule of thumb, if you're happy with the trade as a fan, it's probably not a good trade for the other team.

I do this trade because I've had more red wings fan say its a good deal than not, why would Detroit want another LD in Kulak when they already have Walman, Chiarot, and maatta? btw ceci is miles better than desharnais lol. I guess you didn't watch the oilers a ton this year and that's ok

You misunderstand me. I'm DEFINITELY not saying we want Kulak either.

I'm saying people need to stop trying to trade Detroit their rejects and expect value in return.

did good against top comp like I said, just doesn't fit well with nurse. How is that a reject

So he's better than Desharnais. Performs well against top comp. But you don't want him, you want Desharnais. So you are rejecting him, who is under contract with your team still. While you talk him up as "better" than the guy you prefer? That makes no sense my guy.

You know who else just spent that time playing top pair? Ryan Suter. And yet, he's a reject for the Stars fanbase because he underperformed.

I don't say this to rub dirt in the wound, and he probably wouldn't pair with Nurse, but damn the guy the Oilers need is Oscar Klefbom

wouldn't say he performs well against top comp, but is just average at best. All I'm saying is his cap hit is to high for a bottom pairing dman on a cap crunch team, but can be a pretty good bottom pairing guy on a up and coming team, and as of now it seems like our bottom pair is kulak / broberg or kulak/desharnais. Even though this contradicts everything I've said, I don't see Edmonton trading ceci this summer.

And don't even get me started on klefbom lmao, if he never got hurt we'd probably still have Larsson too and we wouldn't even be having this convo and we'd have a decent d-core aswell
