I would say keep the 4th round pick and take back a retained Hoffman ($1.5M retained)
jonh514 and Andy_Dick liked this.

Leafs decline, maybe if the picks were in 23, it’s an alright offer though

So POJ would become our 47th LHD?

believe MTL is currently over the cap, so they don't take this deal unless they send back Hoffman or Edmundson which pass on both.

Think they're set on the LD side as well.

Unless by some miracle they get Hellebuyck or Saros (won’t happen) why would the leafs do that??? Also DeSmith makes no sense as he would be the third best goalie in the org unless your running a Woll-DeSmith tandem (which would suck).

Granlund contract cancels out the POJ pickup and the Habs are overloaded on the left.

The 31st and 37th pick is more than enough for the 14th overall and it entirely depends on the draft results. 14th overall aint worth it to me if they cant get a Oliver Moore or Zach Benson rather keep the 31st and 37th picks when guys like Gulyayev, Cristall and Hrabal are likely available.

Just do 31 and Edmundson (50%) for 14 and Granlund.

Though I think MTL only does this if a guy like Benson falls at 11. If thats the case we can make the trade above than move up to 11 with VAN (who might also be open to move down).

14OA is overblown at this time. So many of these 'generational' drafts have steals in late 1st and early 2nd. After the top5 picks. Nobody is really worth burning multiple assets when you can sit and wait on your guy. There are so many guys dropping right now like Sale, Cristall. You have to play it by ear.

Here’s a list of players drafted 14th- https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/draft_by_pick.php?position=14

Here’s a list of 31st OA Picks- https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/draft_by_pick.php?position=31

There’s a pretty big difference.

Do I need my head examined? I cannot understand the logic of bringing back an underachieving Jarry in goal.

I never said there wasn't a difference. Big difference and giving up multiple assets? Not this year! Context isnt your strong suit I gather.

Data isn’t yours because you can see there’s 50 plus years of data against you. I would never even consider giving up the 14th pick for the 31st and 37th straight up in any draft.

Only if it’s short term and around 4 M but anymore and I’d say no.

Jarry should be limited to two years maximum. He could be considered an option if better goaltenders available go off the market.
