If it is a sign and trade I would trade those assets for Lindholm. Winnipeg doesn’t need to be involved

Calgary wouldn't trade Lindholm for that but if PLD would extend in Calgary and Lindholm won't they'd do Lindholm for PLD.

Lindholm is a great player, but saying 2 first round picks, a high 2nd (33rd overall in 2022) and a goal scorer with 50% retained that could play with Huberdeau is not enough for a player on an expiring contract who may not want to return is a bit much. If the Flames are going to rebuild, Two firsts and a second is a decent offer (its definitely in the ball park). Lets face it the Flames have a history of losing players for nothing. Lets hope Conroy does a better job than Tre did. Hopefully Lindholm resigns, but the longer it goes, the more likely its not going to happen.

Hoffman has negative value (even with retention nobody wants him or he'd be long gone already) and he's another pending UFA anyhow. Calgary won't be bringing in more pending UFAs for a while now. At least not until after the current pending UFA mess Bonehead Brad left behind has been cleaned up.

Calgary won't be trading Lindholm purely for picks not now or anytime soon anyhow. They'll want a pretty good roster player or a really good prospect as part of the return. They have all year to resign or trade him and he'll be in demand the whole time. Even if he won't extend Calgary won't be in a rush to trade him and can take their time to get the best return possible.
