I think any scenario that returns the same goalie tandem for Pittsburgh is a loss.

Anderson probably back in CAR & Varlamov back with the Isles … Hill with Vegas
No other option out there better than Jarry

Don't think they will join the bidding war for Graves. Maybe for Soucy.

EDIT: Also, Hallander went back home to Sweden.

no, and i don't think Jeff Carter sees much ice time, he'll enjoy the press box this year and dress if they have injuries.

Don't think they'll be in on graves, probably underpaying Jarry and as others said they can't have the same tandem.

One of Petry or Granlund are gone in the next few days.

The Penguins;' goaltending needs improvement. Trotting out Jarry/DeSmith again would be a failure. Jarry is not under contract, and is free to walk. If the Penguins do not see any upgrade options, then Jarry could return on a one-year, $3,00,000 AAV deal to prove himself.

Hallander did not pan out for the Penguins?

I was actually hoping he would re-sign and liked him for a fourth line role this year. He just decided to go back home and be close to family.

Jarry is the best goaltender available, he is UFA. He will probably take the best deal for him July 1st

If you were a general manager, then would you want to take on an injury prone underachieving goaltender eating cap space to underachieve in goal for the upcoming season?

Do you wanna win ? You will not win by replacing him with Korpisalo or Raanta

Yes, I want to win. I want to win with better goaltending. If I cannot upgrade goaltending, then I have to upgrade my defensemen and bottom six forwards.

Who's an improvement? He doesn't need a prove it deal he's already proven. He would never take that deal - it's an insult

He's played the 6th most games over the last 3 years - and hasn't really underachieved

Who do you think is better than Jarry? I recommend Andersen or Ullmark.

The Penguins are in a perfect storm to address goaltending.

I don't think there's any UFAs that are better than Jarry. Ullmark probably is - but that requires a trade.

Not sure what you mean by that at all lol - sorry

Anderson probably resign with Carolina
You gotta trade for Ullmark, he isn’t an UFA

The Penguins need to upgrade goaltending. Jarry is not the answer. There may not be any free agent options available to resolve the issue. That is considered a perfect storm.

Ahh - I gotcha. My b

Although the Pens don't necessarily need to upgrade the goaltending. It's more of a luxury. Jarry is a good enough goalie. That's been proven. And whether we like it or not, we have to play the hand we are dealt. Not every team can have an elite goalie. If they can acquire a better goalie I'm all for it. If not, there's nothing wrong with Jarry. He's a borderline top 10 goalie in the league

1M ish off on Jarry and 1M too much for Graves
But landing both keeps the team competitive
We’ll see what happen with DeSmith now that they have signed Ned

I like your optimism, but there have been few Pens players that I loathe as much as Jarry. He’s a worthless pos, every other move they made today was rendered moot by that terrible signing.
