Was looking at another trade with Bailey woops but hey a 2nd is not bad.

Considering factors I would do it but then again LTIR loopholes just to good.

How did Emil Jarventie get picked in the 7th round? A lot of rankings had him around the 2nd/3rd round

Poile's last pick is Aiden Fink, a very great sleeper pick.

Good luck in retirement DP!

3 goaltenders in 1 draft seems excessive. Especially since none of them are considered very good except Fowler

6 players who were projected to go undrafted. What a joke

This draft was an off the boards draft beyond the top 5

Lots of potential hits and misses

Its always a wait and see

As who knows lots of these guys can make the critics look stupid for doubting the scouts.

Later rounds are complete blind guesses, but picking 6 guys who they could have signed as an undrafted free agent is questionable

Those aren't 6 guys that are projected to go undrafted, those are 6 guys not in the EOTP consensus top 140, slight difference

Doesn't matter. They weren't on the board and we took 3 goalies on top of that. terrible

I’m intrigued by the 3 goalie picks:

I don’t have the stats, im away from pc, but im making an educated guess that it’s 25% chance to make the nhl as a non first round goalie.

If you want a goalie, you can either find first round talent, or play the numbers game. If they develop well, they are viable assets, as everybody is confused by goalies.

It is a challenging position to quantify, apart from height.

Since they’re different leagues, this path benefits from internal competition while avoiding logjam for a few years. By that time the ones who make it will, and if you have too many you’ll find a fair trade.

I like your thinking. Goalies are a shot in the dark, dont waste 1st roundpicks, take a few and cross your fingers. If you get overly lucky they are goos assets to trade

Top5 of the Draft

1. Columbus Blue Jackets: Getting Adam Fantilli, Gavin Brindley, William Whitelaw, Andrew Strathmann and Luca Pinelli is insane. Great use of the draft capital they got

2. Washington Capitals: Ryan Leonard and Andrew Cristall. Great picks at 8 and 40. Also, getting Cam Allen at 5th round is a joke lol

3. Philadelphia Flyers: Great start. Slightly odd they ended up drafting two goalies in a row, but overall they got a solid haul of potential assets

4. Buffalo Sabres: Really like their picks. Benson, Wahlberg and Strbak dropping to their hands is almost unfair, considering the prospect pool they already got

5. Nashville Predators: Overall, I like the draft they had, they used the picks they got quite well throughout the event

HM: Carolina, Vegas, Seattle

Bottom5 of the Draft

32. Montreal Canadiens: You know the f*cked the draft up when the only actually praiseworthy pick was their 7th round choice of Luke Mittelstadt. Everything else was just...meh. Picking 3 goalies was certainly a choice

31. Arizona Coyotes: They had so many picks, and their followed their plan to perfection, drafting only players 6 feet or taller. Unfortunately, their plan caused them to miss so much talent I have to rank them pretty low

30. Vancouver Canucks: Considering what they had available...I don't like their picks. Brzustewicz was imo the only good pick they made

29. Boston Bruins: They had 5 picks for the draft, and I hadn't even heard of any of the picks they made

28. Toronto Maple Leafs: They had 3 picks in the draft, and imo they wasted all of them. At best, I suppose you could say they took in a few projects

HM: Ottawa, Anaheim, Detroit

Canucks got Aiden Celebrini. Spent a 6th round pick for a year for his brother to convince Macklin to demand going to the Canucks

Goalies are very hard to compare in drafts, however Hrabal, Gajan, Augestine seem to be clear cut better

Augustin might be the only one better. Gajan is an overager and even then has been playing worse than Fowler. And Hrabal is okay, they're pretty equal

Agree to disagree. He was the 6th goalie to be picked in this draft...and it's the most voodoo position of them all.
