Panarin/Galchenyuk/Kovalchuk

Created by: BluesBandit
Team: 2017-18 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 24, 2017
Published: Jun. 24, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Youth movement.

Kovalchuk deal gives a top 6 veteran with 4 years of control along with a solid defenseman and a young player who plays a heavy game and can develop.

Montreal deal gets done because of their previously expressed interest in Berglund as well as a very good center prospect and defense prospect to help replace Sergachev.

Panarin deal happens because of the better term and AAV from Schwartz, who actually has favorable stats to Saad. Also a vet and decent defense prospect.

Like Iginla because he's a great leader and a RW.

from MTLs perspective this is a tough one, my first instinct is to say no. the Habs would be interested in Berglund, and Shmaltz is an intriguing prospect, Thompson is not ringing any bells (never heard of him). I just don't know if that's the package that would get this deal done. I would counter with Galchenyuk + mid round pick for Berglund + Barbashev. 100% that gets it done

Well done though! thumbs up

Dude why would Columbus do that? They literally just traded for him... I also don't like the other two deals from a Blues pov. Rather see what Thompson develops into imo.

CBJ says "pound sand".

MTL says "kick rocks".

NJ says "ha! Of course we'll take all this stuff for a guy who won't play here for us and controls the trade entirely and where he ends up. Thank you!"
