I agree, but I also feel like he is should have to either sign a prove it deal or if he really needs that term, he is gonna have to take a lower AAV, because before last season he was just putting up bottom 6 production. His stats are inflated because of injuries, and I don't know if that proves he can hang in the top 6 or if it means he would just be a mediocre top 6 forward on a bloated contract.

who ever gets him is bound to overpay him in a weak FA class. he's a VERY good 3c but will get paid like a 2c

Yeah. And, sad to say because I love a good hometown hero story, but at this point in the rebuild it really shouldn't be CHI that does it.
