Not sure picking up $8M of Pouliot (over 2 years) for $6M of Pleks is much of a bargain. I'd rather trade Pleks for a 7th and keep $1M of cap. Then re-sign Radulov and Price.

I definitely don't see the Wild taking that little for Scandella. De La Rose has very little value at best and and that (likely late) 2nd rounder doesn't bridge the gap.

i get what you're saying. I just don't think any team will take on plekanec's contract without sending another crap contract back. In the trade I've suggested, MTL still benefits by shedding $2mil this year, and acquiring a 2nd rd pick (which is Bergevin's ammunition for other trades). and I honestly think this 4th line of Pouliot, McCarron, and Weise is pretty sick, they would have speed, size, and some scoring.

yeah this is wishful thinking on my part. But if teams would be willing to pay the Wild's GM asking price for Scandella (which is a 1st rd pick, and in my opinion an over-payment), He would of been traded by now.
And Scandella is cool and all, but he's not top pairing material (even though that's where I put him...sigh.. just goes to show how much the habs D-is hurting at the moment). He honestly is Jeff Petry caliber defensemen (which is still good!), and if I remember correctly EDM's initial asking price for him was a 1st rd pick...MTL ended up getting him for two 2nd rd picks.. so in this trade,.De La Rose (former 2nd rounder) + a 2nd rd pick...

Thats a major no from Philadelphia, bud.

Couturier > Galchenyuk. Not only is Couturier our best defensive center-man, he is our only defensive center-man. Without him, the whole team falls apart on the PK, our 3rd line is now more unstable than before.

Giroux, IMO, is slightly better than Pacioretty. while he doesn't put up the same numbers as Pacioretty, Giroux has the ability to make everyone on his line and PP unit better, or at least, inflate their numbers.

McNiven >> than Dale Weise, but we have no need for more goalie prospects, as we have the deepest prospect pool in the NHL.

While the value might seem to equal, you failed to look at it from the PHI perspective. We now have one center on our team, Valarti Filppula. Nolan Patrick might be able to crack the roster, but thats a rookie on the 2nd line without a 3c or 4c to safety net him. Thats a huge role, especially if one goes down to injury.

Fair enough for Couturier.

and as for the deepest prospect pool for goalies....yeah ok buddy whatever you say lol aside from Carter Hart.. i see nothing impressive (Stolarz looks decent). I would put Columbus ahead by a mile in terms of Goalie prospects. (Korpisalo,Forsberg,Dansk)

wow. you forgot to even check your facts. Carter Hart, Anthony Stolarz, Alex Lyon, Felix Sandstrom, and so much more. its not even close. its a mere fact that we have the deepest prospect pool, overall, especially in defense and goaltender. sure, we might have Hart and Sandstrom peak out above the rest, but the depth is unreal.

omg could you be more biased. most teams that haven't consistently made the playoffs for the past 5ish years can be considered with extremely deep prospect pools. and saying you have the best is incredibly stupid, as there will never be a time where someone says they have the "best" prospects. because they are just that, prospects. unproven players that we base their value off their potential. So get off your high horse and get with the real world.
