Are you referring to signing Klingberg and letting Schenn walk? .. the issue with Schenn wasn’t the dollar amount. It was term. You don’t give a 7th defenceman a 3 year deal when you’re consistently a cap strapped team. I’ll take Klingberg at 1 year for his deal than Schenn for 3 at his any day of the week

Your opinion seems to be very narrow sighted. How do you know it was Treliving’s fault that Gustafsson didn’t re-sign? It’s a two way street - the player has to want to sign with the team too. My guess from everything I heard was that Gustafsson wasn’t happy with his playing time in Toronto, hence why he didn’t re-sign. Can’t blame a guy who they acquired and didn’t use if he wants to walk away.

For sure! My point is just that I don’t agree with 4 million towards a guy who can’t defend. IMO both signings can’t make a difference in a playoff game.
