Does it? I checked from Wikipedia, and the compensation cost for four first round picks is about $9,5M.

You gotta take the total sum of the contract and divide it over five years.

    So in this case 8,875,000 × 7 = 62,125,000 ÷ 5 = $12,425,000 would be the offer sheet compensation amount.

This is copied directly from Wikipedia that you referred to

    Compensation
When a player accepts an offer sheet and his team declines to match the value of the contract, his former team is entitled to draft pick compensation in the next upcoming draft or drafts based on the averaged yearly salary of the contract. This averaged annual salary is determined by dividing the total compensation by the lesser of the number of years of the Offer Sheet or five years

No, you if the deal is more than 5 years, you have to divide total sum and divide it by 5 years.

Example: DET has given Leon Draisaitl an offer sheet of 70/7. To find the compensation, you divide the "total sum" or 70 by 5, giving you an AAV of 14. That number, "14" is the AAV that you use to determine the compensation, which in this case, per the correct graph, would be Four First Round Picks as compensation to EDM.

The cap hit of Leon Draisaitl is 10 million for 7 years
