    So basically for a 1st from 2022 and a 2nd in 2025?

Because the Sens are paying a heavy price for Mantha's retention

They could get him for less, even with retention

Value is fair but i think miro is untouchable. Make it LaPierre and a 1st instead of miro and a second

Debrincat doesn’t have this kind of value and Ottawa doesn’t have this kind of leverage. Capitals decline in an instant.

What is "this kind of value" you're talking about?

You don't think DeBrincat has late 1st + 2nd value? lol he easily gets that at the deadline

Miroshnichenko has much higher than Late 1st value and no I don’t think DeBrincat has that kind of value (what’s being proposed in OP) to the Capitals, at all. Mantha is immaterial, the Caps don’t need to move him. The Capitals would not trade Mantha + Miroshnichenko for a Late 1st so that is not the equivalent value. The Capitals are not going to trade Miroshnichenko for DeBrincat when they can likely get him for much less. Again, OTT has ZERO leverage, everyone on earth knows DeBrincat wants to be traded and OTT wants to move him.

Of course you know more about Miroshnichenko than me but what did make him rise in value since the draft? He was taken 20th just a year ago. Why was he not in WJC-20? Zubov said he was out of shape. I admit he is very intriguing but most 1st rounders are that early.

It's true that "late first" doesn't give him justice but I initially said "1st from 2022" before you reacted

Sens wouldn't pay a 2nd + 4th for retention (well a good GM wouldn't) on Mantha. Tarasenko won't sign in Ottawa so they don't need that retention and even to trade Joseph away. They don't need to sign Khaira and Benn too. Mantha would be a cap dump in this proposal

    So it's Miroshnichenko + 2nd in 2025...

What makes you think the 14th best scorer in the NHL since he was 19 y/o "doesn’t have this kind of value"?

What is funny is the other 2 Caps fans in this thread said :

I wouldn't love to give up miro but this is actually very even for both sides and Value is fair

Fans never really have the whole picture of reality. Just change some words here and it could be :

"WPG has ZERO leverage, everyone on earth knows Dubois wants to be traded and WPG wants to move him"

The whole world works with supply and demand. The return for DeBrincat will also be based on that.
