I think they'll start the season with Douin and MacKinnon on the same line
You have to imagine the Avs will probably need to sign 1 or 2 vets who will take Cogliano money chasing a Cup run.
If they could get those young guys at those values, would be some great negotiating though.

I think signing foote sundqvist would be solid additions. If comtois could sign for that I'd be all for it.

I think Wood colton comtois
LOC sundqvist cogs

Would be nice bottom six with olofsson as 13th forward

Jack johnson and foote would be good 6/7 dmen

I'm just wondering what the hold up is on signing colton ross. I think his cap hit will determine who they sign

I agree, it's out of nature for them to not get a Colton deal done yet. I think people are overestimating Drouin and looking at his past with Mack from 10 years ago and thinking he can all of a sudden do that again now. It would be awesome if he can and be a major benefit to the Avs to see him gain form. I wonder if they are working on a trade for another winger or D man.

If they trade Girard, I wouldn't mind avs signing dumba. Him and manson tearing **** up while byram pairs with Johnson or another dmen they bring in.

I was hoping they would've signed pacioretty. Cause then at least he could play top 6 if drouin faltered.

I mean like you said avs are banking on old chemistry and I think the line of Lekhonen mack rantenen was the best. I don't think bednar should mess that up.

I think CMAC is playing a bit of hardball on term with Colton. He already showed with Wood that he's not afraid to negotiate instead of just signing the presumed deal. The 6 years at 3 probably isn't far off from what he's trying to do. I think that is one of the big differences between CMAC and Sakic. Sakic had a good eye for players but didn't take as much time negotiating the length of a contract. CMAC has that vision for the future.

That is a very good point. We are seeing the new guard taking hold I would like to see them get it done within the next day or so in order to make some more good moves.

We haven't run into a holdout situation since the Shermanator was replaced by Joe. I have no doubt this will get done.
