There's no incentive for Winnipeg to help Toronto with their cap problems.

If Nylander is signing 9.2 with WPG, Toronto would just sign him to that. Doesn't make sense

Whatever same thing, If he's leaving to sign 9.2 that doesn't make sense, we would just sign him.

I think you’d have to do Ceci instead of Kulak, and add in Liljegren or a cheap top 9 winger

The Jets get the better, more well rounded player. DeMelo fits a need for the Leafs, they need a steady guy to play with Rielly. I think it's a fair trade. Both UFAs, so not much risk either way.

Leafs are reported at below 8 right now so I doubt they come up a mil +

Winnipeg isn’t helping with cap problems here they’re just getting a better player. Brodie would be their best defenseman

But on this team he wants 10, because the other guys all make 11 and up. If he goes to Edmonton he can't demand much more than Draisaitl who makes less than 9.

No Ceci. We had him and didn't like him. I think this is a fair trade because Nylander is three years younger than Kane and can put up 100 points playing with Draisaitl.

Leafs are in the high 8's.

Why would they let Nylander go over like 500k?? Doesn't make any sense. They wouldn't' lost Nylander over 400k or 500k, especially with the cap sky rocketing to maybe 88mill next year

It really doesn't make sense trust me lmao, He's not leaving to sign for only 9.2 elsewhere, I get what you're trying to say but its just not accurate. If you had put Nylander sings 8 X 10 then that would make way more sense

That's funny, I was about to say EDM needs to add in Broberg and their 2026 1st

But I think he's going to take less on another team. Maybe low 9s.

Once again I really don' understand your logic, if he didn't want to re sign in Toronto its a different story, but if he wants to stay I don't get why he would leave and take less then what we offer him

On this team he doesn't want to take less than 10 imo, because the three other guys make so much more. And the Leafs don't value him as a 10 million dollar player. On Edmonton there is only one top dog and that's McDavid. He'll settle for less there.

Do not underestimate Brad’s ability to fumble elite cost controlled players

Lol, if you're high on Kane, you'll say TOR wins but if you aren't, then EDM I'll bet

I just want to see Kane and Reaves on the same team and see what happens. Washington isn't trading Wilson but he is my first option in a Nylander trade.

Don't like either for TO; both act tough until it matters and then they coward away... reminds me of Kadri TBH - scoring touch

Skill wise it's a lateral move at best for the Jets. So the Jets are just getting older, more injury prone and more expensive. So There's no reason for the Jets to help Toronto with their cap mismanagement.

No the Jets are making a lateral at best move just to get older and more expensive and more injury prone.

It's not cap mismanagement. Leafs are fine. Sometimes trades like this happen because a coach or a GM values a certain player more than another. I don't see either team losing this trade.

Maybe, but as I said, there's just no reason for Winnipeg to get older and more expensive without improving.
