Don’t think you are getting a first for Gibson. Maybe I’m wrong.

If you take out the first and vanecek, maybe. Oh and also retain 50%.

You are in for a surprise if you think Gibson is netting you a first without retention

Keep Gibson and his contract as far away from the Devils as possible please and thank you.
Vanecek and Schmid are both likely outright better goalies than him at this point in time.

Also, why would the Ducks trade Mintyukov for DeBrincat? They aren't really anywhere near being competitive for the 23-24 season.

Even if it's just Bahl for Gibson at 50% it still doesn't seem like a good idea to entertain acquiring Gibson.
Why bother with all that risk?

Agreed - with so many teams being cautious about the cap space they have, it seems the only way any team gives up a 1st for Gibson is if Anaheim retains 40-50% of the cap hit. It's not just the $6.4M number but it being for the next 4 years. For a player whose stats have been on the decline for a few years, the risk factor in that continuing as he gets older is high.

Ehhhh. He’s better than his Anaheim numbers, and Bahl is replaceable. How much better is the risk, but at 3.1 it’s a more reasonable gamble. Plus you still have VV and Schmid

Ducks don't want to trade Mintyukov and it's also not the piece the Sens need

You didn't know that Ottawa had Chabot, Sanderson, Chychrun, Brannstrom and Kleven as LHDs???

Your trade doesn't work

Its not what OTT needs, but if you're offered Mintyukov you take it.

Yeah of course but moot point because I can't see the Ducks offering Mintyukov.

100% agree.

Id be happy with a 1st and Luneau if it let us sign Tarasenko

Tarasenko is a big name but I'd much rather have Tatar... Tarasenko is not very good defensively and this is where we need help : 2-way wingers

If we could sign both, that'd be ideal as Tatar-Pinto would allow Tarasenko to do his thing but I think we only have cap space for one, even after trading ADB

Tkachuk - Stutzle - Giroux
Greig - Norris - Batherson
Tatar - Pinto - Tarasenko
Kelly - Kastelic - Joseph

If we can only get one, then Joseph ends up LW or RW on that 3rd line

1. That roster looks sick

2. That gets so ****ing spicy cap wise. I expect we would need to dump Brannys newly given out 2M

EDIT: Just went and looked, would 100% require dumping both Joseph and Branny

Damnit. Or Korpisalo and Joseph... Would have required to sign Brossoit, Lyon or Stolarz for cheap

And there's also who we are going to get back in the DeBrincat trade... How will sign Tarasenko then? Unless we only get a cheap forward?
